There should another option 'I've been to one and never ever going to another', something along the lines of that.

Hmm, not exactly 'Nah, that's lame'. That choice feels like, Only losers go to convention. Not that I believe that.

I had high expectation, but it was crap, expensive and had boring skit. * and the costume is from final fantasy, and the next is final fantasy, final fantasy, FINAL FANTASY* I was absolutely bored during the cosplay.

I could not believe that people were actually buying chocolate pocky at the convention $$$$. When they could buy more interesting (green tea etc) flavours down the street at the Japanese supermarket, at the same price.

I never been to one and I'm sure i wont go for 3 reasons.

  1. I hate narutards
  2. cosplayers freak me out
  3. To expensive

I know, it's not fair... I haven't seen a hot male cosplayer.

Erm, never been to one. I want to go, but not enough to make plans, I guess.

I think I would have gone to a convention such as this, but there really isn't one close to where I live...

I Would really like to go to. We have here in Germany Two Big Con's in on thise year is the D.Gray-man Mangaka Katsura Hoshino there.

But still here in Germany the Con's and the "around-Them"-Stuff is just to expensive. To stay at a hotel you have at last pay ~50€ (~75USD) per Day have to Buy a Bus Ticket ~10€ (~15USD) Per Day, have to buy Con. Ticket ~34€ Per Day (~52USD) and the travel costs for me (i have to drive 'round ~70km (42meilen)) are just ~200€ (300USD) per train or ~100€ Per Car (150USD)

Well xD Is there anyone who would like to go to a con. if he has to pay 'round ~732USD for One Weekend (~3Days) oô
I guess noone would.

Btw. this is the best case...

In our country (Philippines), there are conventions almost every other month. They're usually held in Metro Manila, which is pretty near where I live. But I don't attend all of them.

There's only three that I'll attend every year: Ozine Fest (organized by an anime magazine), UP AME Fair (this one is in my university), and Hero Con (by an anime cable channel).

I've also tried other cons once: PSICOM Con (by another anime magazine), and Mangaholix (I have no idea who's in charge of this one).

And... there are a lot more that I've never been to. Entrance fees are affordable (usually 100php, which is like... around $2?), but the fun kinda wears off if you go to all of them.

Went to one for the first time last sunday. It was fun, bought lots of stuff 😀 , mostly gundam models and keychains. Not really that many events on the last day but i still had fun. Hopefully next year I wont have a family vacation on the same weekend as AX and I'll be able to go for all 4 days.

Doujicon's this month, it's the smallest and cheapest in melbourne I think...but who cares? Free classes! xD Though still, I'm going alone...unless a certain someone's meeting me there...coughtachucough >> and it starts at 10am so... 🤢

I wonder how am I gonna explain it to my parents 🤣

Been to fanime a couple years, and anime-expo this year.

Best story: Fanime. Went to the masquerade, and did some other stuff with friends, so it's late at night. We're walking back to the Hilton(from the convention center...maybe a movie at the Marriott I forget. when all of a sudden we see the chick from the ring walking barefoot towards us. Sauntering in her broken leg way, hairr covering her face.

And I walked past right next to her. Most terrifying moment in my life.

(great cosplay and character enactment)

Awesome. My friend had a similar experince 2 years ago at AnimeExpo. He got out late (around 1 am) since he stuck around to catch some video room stuff, and as he was walking down the street (all alone of course) to a nearby Denny's he hears something behind him. When he turns around, he sees Shounen Bat rollerblading straight towards him! Sure it was just a cosplayer and nothing happened, but the character and circumstances were just too perfect.

FYI, if anyone doesn't know who Shounen Bat (aka Lil Slugger) is, he's a character from Paranoia Agent who mysteriously appears and disappears, visciously beating people with his bent golden baseball bat.
