Warn: Banned

Quote from Otakuch

but it doesn't mean, insulate all of them from the internet.

Believe me when I say that you don't know how far, to what extent, and just how religiously devoted people are to "* the internet is serious business*" the moment you make fun of them.

Warn: Banned

And, there goes the site. So, immediately after the events that happened last week, Ron announced that he will be hiring two lawyers to "investigate" the issue of the legality of lolis. The reasons he claims why he did this is "to research to see where that line is drawn legally" and indicating that it's to show his dad (Jim) what the "letter of the law" is on the subject. One of the lawyers declined to research the subject, meanwhile the other sent the document in on Monday detailing his analysis. On Tuesday, Ron announced that loli was banned on 8kun. The reasoning for why is that "loli is illegal" because it doesn't pass the unconstitutional Miller Test, however his announcement also carried along the statement that, "As it is, obscene material is not protected speech under the First Amendment." What that means is that porn of any kind can be deemed illegal, whether or not there is the presence of any kind of lolicon material. When other Anons brought this up, Ron responded by stating that, "Porn is not banned."

In other words, instead of following "the letter of the law" that all porn is to banned from the site, Ron made the hypocritical decision that only a specific genre of porn is now banned. This made people furious and resulted in Anons questioning the entire response. One brought up that a crucial law used in part for Ron's decision has been used to rule text as being obscene and (Therefore) illegal, another mentioned that the very law used was deemed unconsitutional just a decade prior, some Anons started questioning if Ron even did contact a lawyer and just made the entire thing up, 8chan's resident Gook brought up how laws regarding the subject went down in South Korea, but most users made the discussion about how banning loli would start resulting in bans being created for more generic content (Using the new anime restrictions on Patreon as a recent example). One of the board volunteers even made an open statement about how disgusted he is with the decision, only for his post to be deleted and account removed. As one Anon summed up the entire issue:

Lolis are an expression of freedom. They are an expression of being able to talk about more "icky" and "disgusting" topics that are not socially accepted. They are part of society's shadow, something that is not harmful but forces them to take in some moral subtlety as well as face an uglier side of society that they do not want to accept and pretend that it doesn't exist. It is the ultimate moralfaggotry test, it smokes out retarded larpers who care more about saving their fucking face than actual morality. There is nothing morally wrong about loli, the only reason why it is banned is because people associate it with actually disgusting immoral acts, the argument against it is an argument made purely from disgust. Loli doesn't harm anyone and is in itself a victimless crime. To ban it, is to give to retarded herd mentality that tries to push away anything that might challenge their perception or reality and be unpleasant to them.
You might say that I'm exaggerating when I say this about some stupid hentai fetish pictures, but I'm not. It merely shows how pathetic humans are for something like loli to be controversial and have this effect on them. It should not be controversial, it should not be a problem, it is merely because people associate it with something unpleasant and are whiny pussies about it or self-righteous retards who want to larp as the defenders of civilization.
Banning loli is not only betrayal of imageboard culture but freedom of speech and expression as well, but shows Ron and Jim as a weak-minded cucks with heads up their own ass. Fuck them both and fuck this site. I'll see you guys in the bunkers.

As for how people are treating this issue, some boards that have decided to comply with the new rules with some Anons celebrating that loli is banned, meanwhile other boards and users have made the decision that they're going to leave and start using their favorite alternative site(s). However, regardless of where people stand, it's almost universally agreed by everyone that 8kun is taking a major step away from being the successor to 8chan that it was first advertised as.
