NANA manga creator Ai Yazawa revealed in the May 4 issue of Kobunsha's Josei Jishin magazine that she returned home in early April from the Tokyo hospital where she was being treated for an unspecified serious illlness. She had put her NANA manga last summer due to the sudden illness. However, she said that she has not gripped a pen once since her illness, and revealed that she does not know when or if she will return to working again.

Thank You for that information.
Nana is a masterpiece in the josei genre and I am a big fan of this manga.
I pray for Ai Yazawa's quick recovery. I am very happy to know that she has returned and hope she has a complete recovery and is able to enjoy life once again.
It would be selfish on my part to hope for her to resume writing before she resumes her routine in other aspects of life.
However she is greatly missed by Nana fans and no one can take her place. Hopefully we will see this wonderful manga to its deserving conclusion.

Wow, I'm curious on what her illness is...
I hope she will be well and take her time to heal up.

Waiting for new chapter. So long already 😔
I just wanna know why Osaki Nana left Japan by herself. In the last chapter, she seemed to be in better mood 🤨 and start singing again after Ren's death.

I just started reading this this morning and read it nonstop. REALLY ADDICTING. Then I find out that it may not continue. That was a KNIFE to my HEART. I hope she writes the rest of her story, i dont really care for pictures or anything. I just wanna know what happens.(particularly with NobuXHachi)

Hope she writes down how it's supposed to end in her will or something. I'd hate it if anything happened to her and left us hanging. Get well soon, Yazawa!

You really should put a spoiler tag on those who stopped earlier in the series. I think it's also rude to just remark "Yay more Nana!" too. I'm glad for her well being because she is one of my favorite artists to date and was a huge influence on me when I was younger. I hope her life settles down and maybe then will she be able to pick up a pen again but she should focus on relaxing and getting her life back into normal pacing before even considering continuing any manga.

OMG, I'm swooning at the thought that she might never finish NANA. I wish her well, and I hope she has a swift and full recovery, but I sincerely hope that she doesn't plan to leave her fans in perpetual purgatory by never finishing NANA.
