It is a little annoying when there are a few extra pages each chapter, particularly when a volume is comprised of many short chapters. When you go to download a volume, the file is significantly larger and takes longer to download. When you're reading online, you have more pages to skip. (These are the concerns of someone with a slow Internet connection.)

Most of the time I find them really ugly. (especially the shoujo manga ones for some inexplicable reason) Really strange, bright colors and lack of consideration for the original lines...maybe I have overly high standards? I think the worst ones are when the dramatic pages in the middle of the chapter are randomly colored.
But whatever, the scanlators get to do whatever they want. 🙂

If it's done well and there's a cute and/or hot female in the page I'll keep it.

They don't bother me, and I quite like them. Just as long as the colors aren't that off.

I really don't care. If the scanlators want to, then I have no right to complain. Whatever makes them happy I suppose.
Doing nothing is very hard to do. You never know when you're done.

Perhaps I should've added an option along the lines of "Only if it's good art"
Yes, then I could've voted.
There are some great colorists out there who give an extra life to a b/w page.
...and then there are the newbies.
It annoys me when a terribly colored page is included. When the page is not cleaned properly and the colors are either flat and dull (with no shading) or they simply don't compliment each other (gaudy colors!) 😐
I mean, it's great and all that they're proud enough of their coloring that they feel it's okay to show it to the world...but perhaps too proud sometimes that they don't realize that it is...not so good :S
I understand scanslation groups sometimes feel obligated to include them in their releases or risk hurting the feelings of the person who submitted it, but sometimes you just gotta be "mean" and tell someone that their work is crap or they'll never improve 😃

Hahaha, well said! 🤣
Nah they don't bother me.
Sometimes they're nice to see, especially if they're coloured well.
Original page should be there though.
Basically, as long as I can still read the chapter, I don't care 🤣

Well, I don't keep them, but it is always interesting to see the characters "coming to life" the way their fans see them.
Some are not so very well done, but if they include the same picture coloured by different people, it shows the difference in approach, imagination and skill really nicely.
Quite often, I like the idea of the worse piece of art better.
So yes, I like them.

its alright.. if its well done... and im quite neutral about this... i have to admit that i do like it sometimes because i can see what they look like it full color...
oh please do click this!
The sweeter the apple, the higher the branch. The quieter the fart, the nastier the smell.
GUESS WHO??
Honestly, I don't really mind... I actually like them a lot because I know I can't color that well. 🤣 I only hate it when they place it in the middle of the story that it goes like
original scan 1 --> colored scan 1 --> original scan 2
especially when important stuff are happening. It just kills the moment >:-(

I feel that with colouring the pages comes the need of more details on the characters, and since the fan colouring dosn't come with more details to the pages it just ends up looking strange.

Well, I'm going to be blunt here:
I absolutely cannot stand them. I was reading a chapter and the scanlators had put in fan-colored pages in the absolute worst possible places; it ruins the moment, like omgshanice said. No matter whether they're colored well or not, I do not want to see the same page over again when I am in the middle of reading, especially during an important part. To me, it's the graphical equivalent of some random guy farting in the middle of the most moving part of a movie. It ruins my train of thought, and I find it very frustrating.
I guess it also doesn't help that I prefer black-and-white to colored pages in general, either. 🤣
Well anyway, it is a valid point that scanlators can put extra junk in their chapters if they want, but my point is just that I wish they wouldn't.

I don't like them, it feels the same as watching TV and having to bear annoying commercials.

I'm okay with fan-colored manga pages. It's interesting to see someone else's take on what the characters might look like. I did color one once; I had cut out a favorite panel of a manga I liked for an avatar and someone suggested I color it, so I did. It turned out okay.
I must not have been exposed to a lot of fan colored drawings as I've never seen any 'bad' ones. Then again I usually skip past the opening pages anyway so I never really pay attention.

It annoys me. Especially when I have to read the same page right after.
Some people say only if it's "okay". All fan-coloured pages I've seen, whether in a scanlated manga or for fun, looks awful. And this is because the people who colour the pages have no idea how to colour properly. They just think that with their box of Photoshop crayons, they'll pretend its a colouring book. And it ends up looking like an elementary project with colouring worse than pillow-shading.
I also hate how skin out to be yellow and shadows are too light to be seen! 😔
I am really annoyed with this because, though I'm not an amazing artist, I know enough fundamentals of colouring than just blindly block in colours.
And I have coloured several manga pages and I treat it if I was colouring a piece of artwork.
