Help! About Glasgow...

So as fate had itself be I booked tickets to glasgow in the middle of december. Not really a problem per se, the tickets were cheap (~30 USD both ways) but I just don't really know what people do in Glasgow.
Could any of you folks with plenty of glaswegian experience bring out yer best stuff? Great places for coffee, best place for deepfried snickers, best place for veggie food, best place to see, best place to sleep at, best stores, the more subjective the better. The only thing I already know is that if there's a northernsoul or indiepop night I'm going, other than that I'm clueless. Help a deepfriedsnickersfearing brother out will you not? Please? (I'm fluent in patter, don't worry. An old lady thought it to me a few years ago.... 😀 😀 )
Oh, that's right. Anyone who knows of any good youth hostels there?
Well then, I'll leave myself in your gentle care! Thanks!
Do you know what people did in the old days when they had secrets they didn't want to share?
They'd climb a mountain, find a tree, carve a hole in it, whisper the secret into the hole and cover it up with mud. That way, nobody else would ever learn the secret...

It's a good place to get chased by racists... Which about sums up my experience of living there, but probably wasn't what you were looking for ^^
