my favorite would be >> shoujo- vampire knight or S.A. (special A) or gentlemens alliance << clean art
Shounen...>chobits (CLAMP...) D.Gray-man or Superior or School Days

Yeah, anything by Arina Tanemura, Matsuri Hino, or Maki Minami are so beautifully drawn. 🙂

Vagabond
Shigurui
Sanctuary
Crying Freeman
Ravages of Time
Berserk
It really depends on your taste. Some people like "clean" manga while some like "unclean" (I didn't want to say it like that but I didn't really know how to say it).

Dogs (That is to say, the entire works: Bullets and Carnage and that one-shot with the twins as well)
NHK ni Yokoso! I just...liked it. Something about it clicked, see?
Ichi the Killer. So detailed. So gruesome. So quality.
Oh Great!'s art is usually good, but I've noticed that there are a good many times where it goes over the top and becomes difficult or impossible to follow. His plots also follow this pattern.

This counts presentation also. Most things by the same author look very awesome. Very complicated and beautiful stuff.

Akira has the best art I've ever seen in my life. Otomo-sensei has an unparalleled, powerful, vivid and cinematic style like no other artist in the industry.
I agree
I wish they'd re-release the coloured versions they brought out in the early 90s though, they're so much better done than Sandman and Constantine and other crappily-coloured-yet-genius things from that era, and such a hassle to track down 2nd hand...
it's like reading the film, but with the story actually making sense 🙂
I'd put Blame and Blade of the Immortal for technical drawing. You can follow those tunnels round all night 🙂 I haven't read all of Death note yet but that'd be in my top ten too; a lot of manga artists (even the guy who drew Blame) can't colour as well as they can draw cos they're mainly used to black and white, (most manga covers for things like Bleach annoy me cos the colours are too over the top and don't fit the drawing quality) but the death note colour pages are pure loveliness.
Fullmetal Alchemist is the best thing for getting facial expressions I've read; and I love the crazy round building designs in Naruto and the fights in Bleach, when they just dissolve into lines and ink splatters but still look polished and stylish and you can always tell what's going on.
I've been holding back on reading Ghost in the Shell because I don't like what I've seen of the character designs; I preferred the way they looked in the anime. MInd you the designs in Kenshin annoyed me too at first but it was so cool that I got used to them.. so might give it a try 🙂
Oh and Tekkon KInkreet
is awesome in every way..

Any manga by Inio Asano. He's a master of all the shades of gray and the way he composes and frames is on another level. Just take a look at Nijigahara Holograph or Solanin and you'll know what I'm talking about.
Also Milk Closet, with it's 'superflat' style. Takano Masayuki's Blood Alone too. Dogs: Bullets & Carnage is another.
I'm an artist/photographer by profession, so I prefer unique, 'not done before' styles.
As for the the more typical/commercial titles, I like Ga-Rei for shounen, Mars for shoujo/josei.
Cheerz!! 🤨
