Hello everyone! I've been wishing to create this topic for a while in hopes of receiving some nice recs!

I'm looking for relationships in manga when two characters form some kind of cruel, twisted couple - they hurt each other by not admitting their feelings, they get jealous, play their mind games and hopefully have great chemistry. Well, obviously I'm not looking for normal couples we usually find in high school romance. Their realionships may be some kind of destructive and dysfunctional, but only if it is totally okay for both of the parties (I don't want any abusive relationships). I think that Chuck/Blaire from Gossip Girl and Scarlett/Rhett from Gone with the wind are such cruel yet passionate couples.

Good examples from manga would be:

Shigure/Akito from Fruits basket - he was plotting his game only to get her, and he got revenge on her for betraying him. She was jealous of his other women and missing him as well yet not showing it much.

Dmitri/Alice from Kuro Bara Alice - it took them a lot to realize and admit their feelings. They had their intense moments, I liked them.

Kaname/Yuki from Vampire Knight - well, they are really similar to other 4 couples I mentioned but what I liked was deep love Kaname had for Yuki that even made him commit some crimes. Their love was sad and passionate, I liked the chemistry (oh, I liked Zero as well, but let's avoid ship wars here plz).

Actually I'm addicted to male characters that suffer silently from great love but can't confess or win heroine's heart for some reason. If you could rcommend me such couples as well I would be really grateful.
Examples:

Masumi from Glass Mask - he thinks she hates him (and she does for a while), so he stays in the dark and express his admiration for her through blue roses. He's just an amazing character.

Ren from Skip Beat - I guess no need to explain.

I prefer reading long series, so don't plz recommend one shots or 1 volume works. No yuri and yaoi.
I would welcome recs for books, novels, tv couples as well.

Thanks for reading!
