Hi everyone,

Gokusen is one of my favorite manga and while messing around on the computer I stumbled upon the live action drama. I was wondering if anyone had seen it and if they would recommend it? I know I'm being lazy by not actually watching it myself, but it really is a bummed when the drama of one of your favorite manga turns out to be a flop.

Well if anyone would like to give their opinion on the drama I would really appreciate it

I personally loved the Gokusen drama. I'm sure you would like it too, and it does have 3 seasons plus a movie.
The first season is based on the manga and anime, with the same characters. However in season 2 and 3, as the students graduate from s1, there are new characters, however the head teacher and obviously Yankumi, are there.
Yankumi's character is slightly different in the drama, however in my opinion, it is much better. They really did well on the drama, despite that the first season was released in 2002.

The plot deviates quite a bit, but it is still pretty enjoyable. The drama is a bit more silly than the manga, if I remember correctly, which was probably because it was on TV and thus had to be a bit more family friendly. Aside from the three seasons, there is also a movie, but I'm not sure if it is subtitled as I haven't yet watched it.
