Hello guys! I need recommendations!

I have this weird cravings for mangas where the MCs are in a very sad/traumatic situation. Something that will make you really feel depressed. I don't really care about the genre but I often encounter these plots in seinen. I don't know how to explain this since I'm not too fluent in english but I provided examples below.

Examples are:

  • Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan

The male MC was prostituting when he was a child so he could feed his blind younger brother. The brother died because of a car accident. But I think the brother killed himself so the MC can stop prostituting. But then the MC ended up doing bad things like harassing homeless people because a rich guy is giving him money to that for entertainment. The MC met a homeless kid who looks like his brother so he decided to stop doing bad things. I think he adopted the homeless kid and they lived peacefully but the rich guy found out that he stopped because of that kid so he killed the kid. The male MC felt so angry so he pushed the rich guy into the train tracks but he also accidentally pushed a mother with a child into the train tracks. The three of them died. Ok, I will stop here.

  • Killing Stalking (the part about sangwoo's past)

Sangwoo's mother is mentally unstable. The mother poisoned his father using rat poison then they buried the father on a mountain. He kept living like nothing happened then he starts getting stomach aches. He found out that his mother is also giving him rat poison. He replaced the rat poison with vitamins so that his mother can continue putting it in his food without killing him 🤢 His mother also tried to rape him before she died. She committed suicide by stabbing herself with a knife held by sangwoo.

  • Oyasumi Punpun (I didn't read this but I know this is depressing. I just don't like the story)

  • Another manga that I forgot the title but here's the story:

Female MC has a younger brother, a grandpa, and a useless dad. One day the dad says he will become a fisherman somewhere then suddenly left. I think he promised them that he will comeback. Now the MC who is still in primary school is now left with her grandpa and younger brother. Not long after that, their grandpa suddenly died but because they are just kids they don't want the authorities to know that they were left alone by their father. So, they buried the grandpa in their backyard. I think near the end of the story she found out that her father didn't become a fisherman but is having a blast with women.

The stories above are only a minor part of the manga (flashbacks). I want a manga where the depressing story is the actual plot.

Bitter Virgin
Please do check this and try to read it till the end. Felt too many sad, depressing and bitter sweet emotions.

I don't like traumatic past manga because I am an avid shoju manga fan but still I love this manga. Taught me a lot about what actually love is all about. The ending is the most memorable part of this manga.

Summary:

Popular high school student Suwa Daisuke has no interest in dating newcomer Aikawa Hinako, a quiet loner. That's because she recoiled from his flirtatious touch, and he took it as a personal affront. Daisuke informs one of his buddies that he wouldn't date her, not knowing Hinako was listening. Daisuke's attitude changes after he accidentally hears her confession in an abandoned church; she's been sexually abused by her stepfather and has given up a child for adoption. His former annoyance turns to compassion and concern. Hinako is unaware that he knows her terrible secret. Believing him to have no romantic interest, she becomes more relaxed and comfortable in his company. Their relationship faces a lot of obstacles, including jealous classmates.

Kimi ni Aisarete Itakatta

Literally everyone is messed up mentally except for the love interest who seems to be the only genuinely good person. Every chapter just pushes the characters further down dark paths, and the ending is spoiled on the first page of the first chapter so you know what's eventually coming. The best way to describe this story would be a fascinating trainwreck.

Bastard (HWANG Youngchan)

Not going to say anything about this one because it's best when read without spoilers. I finally found the time to read it the other day after seeing good reviews about it for years. Suffice to say it's been a long time since I've been unable to put something down after starting it and I ended up finishing it in 2 days. Highly recommended!
