spine designs?

hi,
is there a reason the spine design on my xxxholic vol.1 is different from the rest?
the color of the title and the little design outlining the volume # are different!
not a big deal but don't you guys hate it when the spines are unmatching 🙁

Hm, you're right, that is unusual. I can't find anything about it when I search on Google. However, I did find out that in the Japanese version, the title color on the spine, the little emblem behind the volume number, and the color of the page edges are different for every volume (picture). Perhaps Del Rey was originally planning to do something similar but changed its mind?

All of mine are the same so I think they must have changed them to match for re-prints 😀
