Well in his own terms, he's only being human. I dont think there's a black or white for him or for any other person for that matter. However, I'd say considering the job and responsibilities he holds, that'd put him on the dark scale but it makes sense if your job is to kill people. The police or armies are no different. Also the bad experiences he's been through kind of also plays a big part in his whole personality and consciousness.

Thanks for the reply I thought it would make an interesting topic. I don't count Sebby Since for the most part he has to follow Ceil's orders. Therefore the main decisions rest on Ceil's shoulders.

In terms of the 9 alignments, Ceil is Lawful Neutral.
If you're not familiar with the 9 alignments they are:
Lawful Good, Neutral Good, Chaotic Good
Lawful Neutral, True Neutral, Chaotic Neutral
Lawful Evil, Neutral Evil, Chaotic Evil
Because Ceil follows the queens orders without question he is of the Lawful alignment. Because of his demon contract, circus arc and occupation, it is impossible for him to be any Good alignment. Because Ceil does not go out of his way to harm people, willingly donates to charity, and tries to protect those he loves, it is impossible for him to be in the Evil alignment.

I think that ceil is not evil, the ones the is evil is his brother. First, think why would the older brother with undertaker anyways, why does he know undertaker, why does undertaker want to save the older ceil but not the young ceil. Second of all, he saved the old ceil when he "died". Why can't undertaker take both of them away and saved them. Why does undertaker need to bring the older ceil to meet the younger ceil. Those are the reasons that I think ceil is not evil is just his brother is too evil for him.

It pains me to read "Ceil" when his name is "Ciel" though really we don't know his true name. He's not evil but rather one of the most human characters in the story.
