If you don't feel the same way, feel free to ignore the suggestion:

Whenever I visit author pages on MU, I often am interested in seeing what are the more early or more recent works of that particular author. Also, I think it makes more sense to sort listed works by order of their date of publication, since they are in the context of the author's personal career and history. So that was my idea.

oh actually.. I like that too. But it'd be annoying + lots of trouble, wouldn't it?

edit edit I mean, I'd also like it if the titles are organized by year (but also by alphabet too. Sort of like how the members are listed). BUT, I know it takes a lot of trouble, so I can survive without it. 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

If that's the case, why don't you just see the series' information page? In it, you can see the year in which the manga was first published (so you can easily know a mangaka's title publication order by just reviewing the info entry of the author's works.)

Well, I think that the mangas are listed in alphabetical order because that is the most easy and effective way to organize a database. Your suggestion does not seems to be bad at all, but in my opinion that kind of information (facts about an author's personal career and history) belongs more to the "comments" section of the entry. Personally, it'd be more difficult to look for a specific title in a long list by the year in which the manga was made rather than for its name (but at the end it's up to the Administrator to decide if such feature should be implemented or not).

Definitely not something i think needs to be added right away, but it sounds like pretty good idea.

i think its a good idea. since its in the mangaka's page. if it was the manga page that would just be too difficult

I think that it's easier to find series if they're sorted in alphabetical order, especially for mangakas who've written a lot of series. But maybe put the year in parenthesis next to each series?

oh yeah~! Or having a separate column for it is okay too. It doesn't have to be sorted...

I hope this isn't considered unnecessary bumping of an old thread. O_o I just wanted to chime in with support for this suggestion since I had intended to post on the same thing.

I don't really get that. If a mangaka has, say, over 20 volumes, wouldn't it be tiresome to have to look up each title individually? Unless there's some nifty way of doing that that's escaped me.

Anyway, it'd make sense for this to be on the mangaka's page. I agree with Skittles; her idea of having the list sortable like the members list sounds good.

Not trying to rush the admin into implementing this, but I did want to add my one miserly vote.
