Does History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi manga really have any romance in it? Because as far as I have read there hasnt been any romance in between Kenichi and Miu, as its all one-sided from Kenichi. So my question is, Why is it listed under Romnce tag? If HSDK is listed under Romance, Bleach can be listed under romance as well coz Orihime's love towards Ichigo is also one-sided just like Kenichi's. I mean, tags can be misleading

Haven't read Kenichi in a while, but there does seem to be a slight focus on Kenichi's feelings for Miu. We didn't even get a slight hint of romance from Bleach until Orihime confessed but there seems to be no focus whatsoever on her feelings for Ichigo other than that one scene.

there is some kind of romance though i wouldn't say it is one-sided, since Miu gets angry (jealous if you will) when Kenichi is with Renka or Shigure ( as in a bath ), but it does progress somewhat and by the end i'm sure they would be a couple

But you have to admit that it kinda starts pissing you off when you see miu experiencing feelings of love and then she starts asking herself what does feelings are.. I would like to see a major development in the relationship soon, altough I dont expect much from a shonen romance I still keep my hopes up so that they get crushed towards the end of the manga. 😛

yeah the romance is pretty immature....nothing deep about it, but it is a shounen action with the focus on martial arts, so you cant expect it to be no Suzuka though

The romance in HSDK is still just at toddler level and IMHO Suzuka isnt that good a read .

My Theory is any instance where the Main female character has to get Jealous over another girls action (like touching, hugging, kissing, etc) towards the Main male character, counts as romance...

in Bleach we do not see that happening, yeah there were time when i think Orihime felt a little jealous at Rukia because she could cheer him up that one time... eh that it plus ichi is explosively oblivious to any of it do it doesn't count.

Back to HSDK we see them caring for each other in their thoughts much more often too, plus they have their moments after like each 50 chapters haha. ch 188 is good example.

thats irrelevant the point i was trying to make was, people who read Suzuka read Suzuka for the romance, cuzz it is a romance, thats not what HSDK is though, romance at best is just a sub-genre, thats what i was getting at

Yes that is true... it is not the same type of manga like suzuka.. it is more focus on action and it is not pure romance anyway... it is more on action. all mangas are different, that is why it is fun reading different mangas even if it has same genre, the flow of the stories are not exactly the same.... or else you could predict it and slowly your interest will be gone.

So... I see there are 38 volumes and it's on-going.

I don't know how long the series was the last time a post was made... but does anyone know how well the romance has developed since then?

Seeing some developement between the two of them would be worth starting the manga. (I've been watching the anime for the last two days.)

well miu-kenichi is almost a couple

for e/g

when the pony tail guy proposed to her at the island tournament she said she already had a promise with kenichi

miu gets jealous when ma-kensei's daughter flirts with kenichi

she said in some chapter that she felt xtremely releived when kenichi was around...but she didnt know why herself!

so miu is an airhead who loves him but doesnt know herself

she heard his confession ......when he said that he was learning martial arts to be with miu
