Just like the title says, I'm looking for a manga, anime novel or movie with the following features;

• Either the main romance should be heterosexual, or else the MC(s) should not be involved in any romantic relationships.

• There should be a side couple which is either boy x boy or girl x girl.

• This side couple must have a happy ending! That's the important bit, really. And don't suggest that I look in the "LGBT character in a non-yaoi/yuri manga" or "shounen-ai / shoujo-ai subplot" categories. Because I have no way of knowing whether those couples have happy endings, now do I?

• Please no hentai, shota / loli, smut, yaoi, ecchi or harem.

The only example I know of is You're So Cool on the BL front (I think. Haven't read it, though) But the thing is, I'm not the biggest fan of manhwa. I'm not saying I won't read them - but they usually have such silly melodramatic plots...

Examples of manga that don't fit are;
Seimaden - I didn't read until the end because I hated the main couple, but I don't think the BL couple (if it could even be called that) met a good end. But if I'm wrong, feel free to correct me ^^

Cantarella - This definitely does not qualify. For one thing, the shounen-ai was unrequited love on the part of the protagonist, not a side character. And the other thing was...that it was unrequited 😛

Blue (SAKISAKA Io) - its more love triangle-ish than subplot.

I'm not sure if you've read this already but I'm surprised no one said it yet. The manga that fits your description is Hana Kimi is what comes to mind. It takes a while for you to get to that point where they show more about it but its a great manga. 😀
