Experiment gone wrong~ ^^

Trying to find an anime I once saw I only saw part of the first episode, and it was about a young girl who goes to her father's lab where he's conducting an experiment. Something goes wrong and she was affected by the experiment. Years later, because of the experiment she has some kind of power and I think she works for an organization or is an assassin. O_O
~And I'm also looking for any manga or anime similar in plot. By this I mean a manga where a character undergoes an experiment (willingly or not) and becomes something out of the ordinary, or is just deeply affected by it. It doesn't have to be essential to the plot but I would like to see how it is exactly that the experiment changed their life completely, or close to it.
-Any genre. O_O
-Doesn't have to be a main character.
-Doesn't matter if it happened before the series starts.
-Change (after experiment) can be either good (for the best) or bad (character turns evil).

I remember more but forget the names at the moment and too lazy to look it up
I have six locks on my door all in a row. When I go out, I only lock every other one. I figure no matter how long somebody stands there picking the locks, they are always locking three.

@drolemi- I remember watching all of Tokyo Mew Mew (yeah...>.>) and there is an experiment gone wrong, not exactly what I'm looking for since the guy just transforms into a cat because of it. ._. But thank you for the help. XD
