I read some time ago a manga about Socrates, Aristides (if I recall correctly) and it was a shonen-ai story about their relationship as master x apprentice. I remember that the boy almost dies because there is a plague in the island and Socrates saves his life.
Does anybody knows what I'm talking about?

AH! that totally sounds like one of the side stories included in the A Night of a Thousand Dreams, not quite sure wheather the scanlation has gone that far though....but it was the Socrates's love sotory.
