Whether or not American fears of communism during the Cold War was warranted or not is almost irrelevant in this point in history, I believe that is what what HikaruYami is referring to.

What is important, and damning, is that what the United States did with that fear was far more damaging than anything a communism boogeyman would have done. Just ask the Middle East and all of South America.

Would you care to expand on that? Especially since I don't see how warning people about a very real ideology, that has killed over a hundred million globally, and was funded and created for the sole purpose of destabilizing countries, is the creation of a "boogeyman".

I don't remember hearing that the U.S. was responsible for events such as the '79 Revolution (In fact, briefly looking it up, Marxists and Islamist were the biggest supporters of it). But, then again, we have actively been destabilizing that entire region for the past 70 years, beginning with the creation (And the continued support) of Israel. Or, you could be referring to the fall of Rhodesia and South Africa, which is also out fault (But, that's Africa, not West Asia).

As far as U.S. involvement in South America, the only thing I know about is how American intellectuals and celebrities praised Venezuela's decent into Socialism, with media completely misrepresenting what is actually happening in that country.

I've started just ignoring that guy ( "transdude1996" ) you're responding to, and I recommend others do the same. Over a long history of comments he honestly just seems like a troll.

For those unconvinced in this particular case, even McCarthy's staunchest defenders only argue that evidence was "strong" in the case of 9 out of 159 people McCarthy identified and villified without public-record evidence.

And, you're calling me the troll? Wikipedia isn't an accredited sources. Never has, never will be. And, last I checked, even the most devout Liberal and Conservative professors will fail your paper if you use it as a source. All it's good for is general information and that is it.

I don't bother hiding it, but the nice thing about being an adult is other adults don't care. They will know I like Japanese comics but I don't talk about specific manga or go into details unless they're also a fan.

I guess mango-passion fruit is ok, but my favorite flavor is strawberry.
