Like any war (WWII, war on terrorism) not taking in question the legitimacy of the war there are many collateral damages involved and one of them is freedom of expression and privacy
and some foolish knee-jerk over-reactions (confusing drawn and real life stuff)

the most interesting subject is about the differing legal positions of various countries and cultures
and how anti-CP attitude and disposition have grown to be more radicalised and fanatical that makes illogical stances and border on tyranny
what we want more are cool headed study and analysis of the history of CP and the evolution of the attitude from simple basic rightful fight against child abuse and sex crimes
to the anti-CP movement of today that makes a girl guilty of sex offense for posting images of herself on myspace link !!! 🤢
how come what was considered an innocent childish body (small angels) had become to be considered an object of desire and vice (more tempting than an adult women body)?

is it that taboo?
aren't westerners free-speech fanatics and taboo breakers?
or is it just them following the "modern" new world established norms?
if it were those usual subjects about butt-hurt western values you'd find a hundreds trolling the same posts over and over again
but a novel subject? no one posting
a real true controversial subject? too afraid to speak

Well CP has it's limits I guess... If it is being used as a means to deepen a plot of a manga or an anime then I guess it's fine (Like a character having been abused when he/she was young which leads to the way he acts today.) but if it is being used as a means for desire a.k.a. fap material then it depends on the psychological state of the person using it.

I mean I myself read adult mangas and some of them contain children (shota/loli) and some of them are just to much (shota/loli + sm play). At the end of the day everything just happens in my head and as long as I stick to the rules of reality then I'm ok. But some people just over do it and they end up mixing their reality with their fantasy which is why there are sexual harassment cases against children. Also some people are just more inclined to go after younger people (children). I mean there's 7 billion different and unique people so there is bound to be at least 1 person who prefers children as there mate and with CP material spread like trees in a forest in the internet then they are bound to commit children related crimes if they cannot control themselves and distinguish between their reality and fantasy.

In the end, people who are what you say over reacting do have a point and people who aren't also have a point. It just all boils down to how you as a person distinguishes between CP and reality. What matters is that this issue ends in an equal agreement that will not compromise the freedom of expression every people have and also the law regarding child abuse.

the problem of this war against CP
is that sometimes they ruin some people lifes because of a spam that contain CP in their mailbox
it reminds of somecase of Music piracy where the law isn't applied against all peoples that posses illegal copies but they catch one or two people and make an example out of them (it's like when in the middle ages some where hanged in public to make an example)
insead of catching real child-abusers (the ones who make CP without kids approval and maybe rape them too) they attack the pervs that hadn't abused childrens
sometimes the abusers are the child parents
and now some even target fictional media for CP excuses (novels and manga )
which taking into account the age of fictional characters is deviations-prone and ca be abused to censor media

Another problem is the way anti-CP war is handled
now CP is an excuse to put black-list and DNS filters on a nationwide
and the excuse of not publishing CP makes these black-list secret
now what's the problem you say?
well it turned out that pretty much all govs (even democratic ones) included websites that does have nothing to do with CP (political, anti-gov, freedom of speech groups)
see the list of leaked blacklists and tell me if there was no one list which didn't include some non-CP website
what i want to tell is that when the gov have the means to censor it would always fall in the excess of the use of that tool
the first step it to protect the nation from evil content
the second step it to ban critical websites of such actions
and the third is to ban political dissent (deemed subversive by every gov out there)
and last you can kiss freedom of speech goodbye
