i dont eat anything after 4 p.m., thats what i do when i want to maintain my weight

if i gain weight then i stop eating breakfast too, instead i just have a really heavy lunch and eat nothing else throughout the day.

i know this isnt anywhere near healthy but honestly this is the only way it works for me.

Alternatively, you could cut the cupcakes.

No, it's more like you want quicker results rather than working towards the long term. The method you're using is worthless because you'll gain all the weight back once you start eating normally. Or do you plan on starving yourself til the very end?

Not going to judge you but please rethink about it...
I'm sure 100% that it's not the only way it works.
and I must say not just it's not healthy it might lead to "Anorexia"(and you really really really don't want it believe me)when i say believe me i say it because i saw it happens, your way is too much "extreme".

and for the topic :exercise is the right word but you can add to this word this:"know how to eat right"
combine those 2 and you become a winner ;P.

Why is everyone freaking out about Sarah? I never eat breakfast (because I wake up late), and unless she meant an apple by 'heavy lunch,' I am sure she is all right, as I often have one big meal a day. I even think this method is more helpful to keeping weight rather than losing it, actually.

Basic nutrition? I mean, my ribbing aside, she said herself that she knew it was unhealthy. Your metabolism needs regular input to function properly, and the irregularity can actually cause some problems down the road.

Individual lifestyles shouldn't necessarily serve as a guideline, either. A typically unhealthy option may work fine for one person, but generally it should not. A friend's grandfather was a farmer. He put so much sugar into his cereal every morning that it literally became saturated and heaps of it at the bottom wouldn't dissolve. He ate that way every morning for fifty years and never got diabetes and generally had no problems with his weight. Does that mean a person who sits in front of a computer all day should do the same? The logical basis is flawed.

That said, she's doing it to lose weight, and if that's the case, "a big meal" might be something like an apple, who knows.

Exercising excessive limitations on your food is typically a symptom of anorexia. Granted, I don't think that's the case here, but that's where the comment comes from.

I'm sure I've read that starving yourself only makes your metabolism slow down in order to conserve energy and fat so you can survive longer. So, skipping meals really isn't going to be as helpful for losing weight as exercising, for example.

Can't say I know an awful lot about dieting otherwise, though. I'm one of those people who has far more trouble putting on weight than losing it. Well, it's probably because my metabolism is going crazy due to a hereditary thyroid problem that runs in my family. Since my mother got it fixed she swears she put on a lot of weight and she's been calorie counting for many years now. But, I think she had a very bad perception of her own body long before that. I'm just glad I didn't pick it up from her as I was growing up.

It is "helpful" (illusion) and yes you are right!.
In the end that method to be effective you will need to eat less and less for it to be effective.
That is why I said it might lead to "Anorexia" and as i said I saw it happens.
well again I'm taking it to the "extreme" not necessarily that it will happen to Sarah.

And Sarah i hope you will find better way to lose pounds if you really need to...

and Seijurou
read all what she said not eating in the morning and not eating after 4pm... I'm not freaking about it...
i just gave my advice(good or not)(not that I'm Mr perfect) let her choose...
