OK ... how about ....

What type of manga are you sick of reading?

  • Harem (ENOUGH!! i have enough trouble getting ONE!)
  • Endless Fighting (We get it you want to get STRONGER)
  • Unrequited Romance (How long does it take for two people to get together?!)
  • Generic Sports (Wait, didn't i read this one already? No, they're ALL the same!!!)

There could be more but i think these would cover the majority.

P.S. I love manga from all of these categories, but we all have those moments where we want something new. 😛

Taken with a grain of salt

gamefaqs.com does an interesting poll once in a while that could be done on BU. Its called character battle...

FOR GOD'S SAKE PLEASE DON'T DO A CHARACTER BATTLE!! Like there aren't enough sites with people arguing "dude seshomaru would kick the crap out of amdamaru" "omg haruhi ftw!!" "lyke goku's powr lvl is a billion and fiev!"

I've got an idea: Scanlation pet peeves.

What do Scanlation Groups do to rub you the wrong way?

Make you join a forum to get the release. (I love posting 50 times to download a single chapter...)

Doing the same series someone else is doing better. (We don't need 4 versions of Bleach people.)

Being credit whores. (yes, your name is in the file name, on every page, and on the credits page. WE GET IT ALREADY)

hogging the host privileges. (Is it so wrong to want all the manga in one convent place?)

Make you get new releases off IRC (I get you have bandwidth problems, but it's just a little annoying when everyone is behind a firewall...)

Low quality Scans. (I'm looking at you 1 man scan teams)

How about: Does your local library have any manga?

-- You bet! Shelves and shelves of it!
-- There's a small 'graphic novels' section
-- A few, but they shelve them in the children's section
-- No, none at all
-- Library...?

My parents...

  • Are a bigger Otaku than I am.
  • Also reads manga, we talk about it regularly and share our collections with each other.
  • Don't know I read it at all, it's a secret hobby.
  • Know I read it but it's not really a topic of conversation.
  • Know I read manga and are repulsed by it and trying to convince me to stop.
  • Doesn't know what manga is even though I tried to explain it a million times.
  • Thinks all manga is for children.

What do you do with scanlations you've finished reading.
-I delete it
-If keep if I liked it.
-I delete it if I hated it
-I save practically everything I download.

  • I upload it to share with others and keep it
  • I upload it to share with others, and delete it
-I leave it on my computer until I need more space, then I delete it
-I don't download scanlations, I read my scanlations online
-I don't download scanlations. I only read manga I've purchased, borrowed from a friend, or checked out from the library

How about this?

Do you buy your manga?

  1. Yea! That's where all my money goes. Manga > food > bills > everything else. Who needs scanlations?
  2. Sometimes, if I've got some extra moola.
  3. Only for series I really liked.
  4. I buy licensed manga, and only read scanlations of unlicensed.
  5. Sometimes, rarely though.
  6. Is it free? Then no.

Feel free to add / edit whateveryou want...

Chosen because I wanted a slightly more serious poll this time...

Well, this is a very simple one, but I am curious to know:

Between the two genres, which do you like more?

  • shoujo
  • shounen

How cheap or spendy are you when it comes to manga/anime and their paraphernalia:

I impulse buy every single manga/anime goodie I see even if it means going hungry for a week.

I impulse buy anime and manga only.

I buy all the volumes of the manga I like.

I think thoroughly before deciding on which volume to buy.

I buy one volume every few months.

I'm a dirty leech that rips off mangakas and publishing companies by only dling scanlations.

I'm so damn cheap that I won't even pay for internet (neighbor's wifi ftw!)

Not sure if its been done already or even suggested (theres a lot of pages already). 😛 Anyway, what about learning a language because of anime/manga.

Has manga/anime inspired you to learn the language?
-Japanese
-Chinese
-Korean
-Other,does English count?
-No way, too hard
-tried but gave up
-more than 1...I'm a genius

I think it would be interesting to see the results. 😀

OOOOO~ the scanlation pet peeves sounds awesome (So with the "hate having to post 50 times just for a couple chapters" >< so annoying) anyways how bout "have you ever forced yourself to finish a Manga/Anime?" like it gets so boringgggggg but you hate not finishing series (you wanna see how it ends!) so you finish it even if it KILLS you! (hana yori dango, anyone?)

~Yep,cant stand not finishing manga!

~Once or twice, only if its "ehhh" boring, instead of, kill me now boring

~Only if the series was REALLY good and then nose-dived i might (MAYBE)

~No way! if i dont like, i dont read it!

Something like that 😀 feel free to edit anything! and sorry if its alreadly been suggested _
