How do you feel about the more recent scanlator trend some manga groups have adopted of breaking chapters up into small chunks and releasing them as X.1, X.2 and so on?

- I like the bite-sized chunks as I don't have the time to read full chapters
- It's all good if it means faster releases
- I'm fairly indifferent to them, it's all the same to me
- Not a fan, it makes the story difficult to follow when it's broken up too much
- Don't like them, it's just an excuse for the group to add their credits and advertisement pages multiple times
- I Hate them as now I never know when I've really finished reading a chapter until the next one comes out
- Other (specify in the comments)

This is actually a trend from Japanese publishers, not scanlation teams. Groups who avoid this are actually delaying their translation (or rather, delaying their upload) in order to wait for the whole chapter to be released, despite the raw manga getting more regular updates as X.1, X.2...

As an alternative:

How should scanlators handle manga that get released in small chunks, X.1, X.2 and so on?

⚪️ Release the chapter in parts, as the publisher does
⚪️ Delay translating the chapter until each part is released
⚪️ Other


As an edit: I have recently come across the trend Amplify1 is talking about as well.
Splitting chapters that weren't originally split. Let's just say... it comes exactly from the groups you would expect. And they are certainly not the releases you would choose to read if you had any other choice.

Summer Sausage is too big of an option to place in the other category. SPAM, corn beef, balogne and mortadella as well. You'll literally see the other category win if these aren't given their own options.
