Well that was a disappointing ending. I guess Ren and Cou survived, did they blow the platform that was falling?
In Erementar Gerard: Flag of the Blue Sky is there any tie in to the original? Characters from the first series showing up in this? A simple yes or no is fine, as I don't want too much of a spoiler.

Yes,there is. You know, the mercenary was from EG:Red and the girl with the big hat is Cisqua's sister
