Alright, I love the idea of Avatar. On paper it seems like it would be a great anime or manga. It was just so poorly executed. They aimed it at little kids, the voice acting was crappy, the dialogue was corny, and I hated most of the characters. Gotta admit that the old fire guy would've been pretty cool, though.

well technically it's not a manga unless you count the little 3 page comics in the nickelodeon magazine. i liked the show though(esp the animation)/fighting), but granted there are a few parts that even a 10 year old would find corny.

I studied for a year in Shaolin in China under a shaolin monk and latter studied other chinese techniques and I can guarantee that the fire nation warriors fight with real shaolin gong fu, specially the panther or leopard style; and the water nation's use some tai chi from Wudan.

Can't see where is poorly executed, better than almost all manga and their made up fighting techniques.

You completely missed my point. Like I said, it's a great idea. I'm not bashing the story or that it uses real martial arts or anything. I'm bashing that it was aimed at such a young audience, and therefore the story was way too lighthearted, the characters were idiots, the voice acting was mostly pretty crappy and that the dialogue was corny as hell!
