I dont know if anyone else has thought about it but after reading the chapter about Brooke's back story I kinda thought that the old captain of the Rumbar pirates Yorki may actually be White Beard.
They never really showed that he died they just sent him off and he seems to fit the age of how old White Beard is and it would explain why White Beard is always hooked up to medical apparatuses... I've been thinkin about this ever since that chapter came out

Hmm, maybe...But I always assumed that Whitebeard was hooked up to all of the IVs and whatnot because he drank too much alcohol xD I mean I think it could be possible, but by the way Brooke's back story played out, in the end he was all alone. And we see the captain dying in his bed and giving out his last wishes so...But maybe he knew Whitebeard?

When Brooke sees whitebeard he'll probably recognize him as a pirate under some other name since he probably wouldnt have had the white beard 10 years beforehand or w/e
Still think it would be tight if the old captain was white beard though

Besided let's even say that Yorki was 20 years old (rather older), and it's been 50 years since then... That would make him 70 years old and I don't think WB is that old.
