It depends on where you live.
In LA, skinny jeans are common for both sexes.

Haha, yeah, I wear... anything that that looks good on me. Mostly, that's skinny jeans and straight-leg jeans, but occasionally I'll throw in a bootcut. I just tend to like less fabric.. Skinny jeans are easier to tuck into my boots. And they go well with Chucks. Heh.
For guys, though... I think the majority of guys don't look good in them, and definitely shouldn't wear them (I mean, I'm all for wearing whatever you want, but, uh.. it just doesn't look good). Unless you're about as skinny as Thomas Mars, the lead singer from Phoenix. He's the one in the back. Oh, Frenchmen... XD

Too constricting, so thats a no.
As for on others, that's a double no, guy or girl. I could rant all day on it but I think I'll just leave it at that. 🤣

I prefer skinny jeans, but I never wear them for too long. When I get home from school, or wherever, I switch into a pair of lounge pants/shorts.

I'm a female, and I prefer straight-leg jeans. Note, I said straight-leg because they're slim, but they don't constrict my ankles. They're much more flattering on me.
As for the skinnies on males/females debate, it depends on who can pull it off. Different body shapes = different clothes. Though, I do admit... I like to see guys wear a happy medium -- normal fit jeans: not too tight and not baggy (grrrrrr... I hate seeing guys wear baggy clothes, but hey... it's their decision).
The majority of my jeans are labeled skinny, but I somehow manage to make them all look baggy (wtf sigh). But yeah, slim guys in skinny jeans are great, buffer guys not so much. But anything is better than baggy:

Female - skinny. Except my skinny jeans are stretchy and super comfortable. ;D

When I see men wearing skinny jeans, I begin suspecting the existence of their testes.
That's where the sagging becomes unfortunately vital.

Girl here.
No for both.
The look is disturbing to me.
I don't like jeans in general, unless they're shorts or reach the knee, like this.
Hrodulf and Bjornolfr, you will not be forgotten.

Female and I wear both skinny (not super tight!) and slim-fit jeans.
I don't think the majority of both sexes should wear anything that's too tight yet absolutely hate baggy clothes on guys.
You are probably able to pull off the very tight jeans/pants look if you have Kate Moss' or Agyness Deyn's figure.
Don't want to go back to the 80's again so I usually avoid leggings. But I think the average slim girl would look good in them if they wear them with pumps like this (pull them underneath your feet).

Yes to both, but I'm usually seen wearing skinnies with hi tops.
Some guys can pull off the look (but the majority I've seen tend to have really thin legs - ones that look like the width of an arm 🤢 )

yeah to all the guys wearing skinny tight jeans/pants, don't wear it anymore. The pressure and tightness of the jean decreases sperm count. 🙄
this is one of the hundreds of sources.
