Fatal Frame is again another nice game since they did mention that it was based from real incidents. Why wouldn't you get scared of that?! 😕 Well, the first one was the only game that I was able to play, the rest went while I couldn't.. Of all things to be equiped with, it had to be a camera that can hurt ghosts? Well, that's something new 😛

Heh..the "based from real incidents" thing is a bit stretched at most I would believe is that it's loosely based on actual events. There was this hoax research paper on the entire thing. I think it's more of urban legend type stuff.

LOL we had 5. laugh Fatal Frame for me is the best horror game there is. i especially like Fatal Frame 1 VERY creepy atmosphere. while playing, all five of us jumped out off our seats when my brother opened the door I even had my dad play it since he likes these kinds of games and he actually had cold sweat while sitting in-front of a 16 degree air conditioner while playing.

Remember these moments?

The koto playing scene? Dong! Anything with blinded, she's like the one of the creepiest ghosts in the game...but then there's the crawling girl...wandering priest...the kusabi....ok so pretty much all of them are scary... :D

🤣

Mine are Fear Effect and Parasite Eve 2.

Two highly underrated games.

First, to the post that said that RE lacked in the mystery department. I agree that that is true. But the game is a Survival Horror game. No where was it mentioned that it was supposed to be mysterious. Actually I find the puzzles in RE to be too easy.
But overall I liked those games a lot.
For Silent Hill... I don't know, I totally disliked Silent Hill 1 on Ps1 and never tryed any of the other incarnations of the game later...
Fatal Frame is awesome though...

Parasite Eve 2 Is one of my favorite games of all time. Excellent game. I loved the story, and the mix of RPG element in a survival horror game was cool. I heard they where planing a Parasite Eve 3... but it would be a game for cell phones... Now that is a BIG disappointment from me.

So let me get this straight...is Resident Evil 5 not coming out for the Wii or not? 😕 I'm so confused and I keep hearing a whole bunch of different things and it's getting annoying...

Warn: Banned

I like old games:

http://www.abandonia.com/games/420/download/Darkseed.htm

Alone in the Dark and Dark Seed.
It's freaky. The monsters are strange and the pictures are queer.

And of course every one's favorite, Silent Hill. I never finished it....too much for the mind to handle.

Resident Evil 4. I just picked up the GC version for a few bucks. My first survival/horror game as I am an utter coward when it comes to video games. But I've got to admit this one is a good game, good enough for me to play in spite of the stress 😛 Currently being killed by the giant cave troll, having just defeated the swamp monster 😮

They're bosses. The swamp monster was some sort of mutated fish and the "cave troll" is some monstrous creature that looks enough like the trolls from lotr to warrant the comparison.

...In the lake right? The giant salamander? Then El gigante?

Did you know if you shot into the lake water before actually going on the boat you get a surprise cut scene? Try 20 shots with a handgun. : :snicker : :

For my first horror I guess Doom was it, though I'm not sure that counts as survival horror, and that was ages ago with the really old ones (they look like nothing now compared to some of the games), recently played doom 3 and it scared the crap out of me. Same goes for the resident evil games, though I didn't play them till much later, it really scared me the first time I played it! lol

didn't know that! will definately try that next time I play it, theres always bits and peices in the resident evil games that I miss that I really wish I had gone back to.

Silent Hill 3, easily the scariest game I have ever played. Silent Hill is definitely the scariest setting of any survival horror and I have played almost all of them.

Second to that is Clive Barker's Undying (an amazing gem of a game that didn't get the audience it deserved. RE4 is a good game too, but it's more jump out and catch you off guard type scares.

Also are two excellent games from Monolith for PC: F.E.A.R and Condemned: Criminal Origins. Both of which have some scary parts, but with Condemned taking the cake with awesome hand to hand combat with various items from the environment. Nothing beats ripping a conduit off the wall and popping some crazy crackhead freak in the head with it. F.E.A.R isn't quite as scary but it has some freaky moments and the action is intense as all hell.

No it is only coming out for the PS3/360. The only Resident Evil slated for Wii right now is RE:Chronicles, which is a shooter in the vein of House of the Dead. The Wii just doesn't have the power to run the new version of the engine.
