At first I was ticked at the flashback, but dang that was a good chapter. One Piece never ceases to amaze me.

Been a while since I been here. Kinda feel bad about that.

This is quite a good chapter, as we get to know more of Tiger's personality prior to his death. That's what makes One Piece interesting to begin with. 😀

Not much to say, except looking forward to the next chapter.

That kid reminds me of Seta Soujiro from Rurouni Kenshin (which Oda was an assistant on), who was always smiling despite being treated like crap. I wonder why Tiger would agree to take the kid aboard in the first place, given that the request appeared to by humans to take care of a human.

Also, in these flashbacks Shirohoshi is still a baby, but if Vander Decken has been after her for 10 years (which is roughly the time of these flashbacks), doesn't that make him a pedophile?

I really liked the kid story, although it's simple it was done beautifully; I believe.

That, and the devils dwelling inside Tiger's chest really give depth to his character; I love the psychological implication of it.

I love the addition of a human to the rebelling Sun pirates. Especially an ex-slave, who's a kid no less.

I know it's too soon to make predictions, but it does seem kind of predictable that Tiger's attachment to the kid, or the fact that he 'promised' to take him home, might be what stirs him up later in the story if something should happen to the kid. For example, they get to his home and his entire village is already destroyed, or the kid himself is killed due to the Sun pirates' many battles.

It's realistic that a slave would be petrified after escaping, even though it's been 3 years. If this were a series like Berserk, we would see exactly what happened inside Mariejois, but it may be better this way, leaving it to the imagination.

Was it kind of hinted that there would be a Kizaru vs. Fisher Tiger? I'm pretty pumped about it.

Poor kid, hope we see him again as somebody who's powerful...

See, this is a good flashback. I couldn't even sit through the last full one without skipping chapters, but this is something that's actually pretty interesting to read about.

Good job, Oda.

@Grave, Yeah, she would be 5 years old, so yeah, he is.

Can i kick Arlong ass all over again >:-( , damn, for a manga character, he really pissed me off and since he's a character, can't do nothing bout it either which pisses me even more.

(Currently off figuring out a way to get into One Piece and kick Arlong arse off)
