Ok, like the title says, I need some help doing some research on some Japanese/Chinese writing.
I have some plates with an inscription on the back and I have been trying to figure out what it means for years. They came from relatives who said they came from Japan during WW2 era. http://bit.ly/ya6Nym

Now, yes I have run everything through online translators and I think I am getting close but I feel something is being lost in translation. Really i'm just looking for some leads but any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. And I figured what better place to ask then a manga site where people from all over read foreign stuff all the time. 🙂
