I don't know If it is just me, however, when searching for a title of a manga or Novel, I use the English name. I am wondering whether it would be possible to add Associated Names (at least for English) whenever searching for manga/novel. Doesn't have to show up as a title, just an alternate search term for the relevant manga/novel. 😕

The series search already goes through Associated Names. The search box at the top-right is the release search, not the series search

Or he meant that he'd like the associated names be grouped together with the main name in the results so that they aren't spread out throughout the page(s). Which is actually something I suggested to Manick back in 2013...

I have a question regarding " associated names" field content
i had seen a lot of mangas with very detailed info included in that field (extras names, page count, punlishers, magazine nr. Etc)

Example: Renai Rubi no Tadashii Furikata has a list:

My question is, do we keep it that way?
I would expect to keep the field content to list names used in serches, and not list publication history?
(I am really sorry if the issue was covered before, but I cant find it)

These don´t look like "Associated Names" to me as they stand (google couldn´t help me) and page counting has nothing to do with that function either. That field is for (official) translations, international names and (official) alternate spellings.
One-shot names also go into that filed if we are talking about a compilation as we don´t list every original story in an anthology 1 by 1 as MU entries.
We also have a description search which is further useful for anthologies.

You can always put the authors name in ( ) after you type in a new name for the entry if that one has already been taken. E.g. Arslan Senki (ARAKAWA Hiromu).
Words as The or And further don´t sort. These are stop words so let´s cool the jets on overloading the Alternate Name field with alternate spellings if only such words are concerned.

For manga Darenimo Ai Sarenai, the alernative name field includes names for japanise re-prints by different publishers (orginal name + special edition+volume name etc.)

Associated Names:
誰にも愛されない
誰にも愛されない 完全版
誰にも愛されない 完全版 上 飯島×日下編
誰にも愛されない 特別版
誰にも愛されない 特別版 長谷川×上野編
......

So my question is: is it information that should stay?
or would it be more preferable to remove the additional editions names?

For me it looks like excessive information, but i do not want to remove valid info by mistake.

Manga List Bug Topic is the correct destination if you have no more questions about site functions in regard to the topic of this thread.
