Yeah, I re-read berserk. It is WONDERFUL. Its really amazing. There aren't many manga where you can feel the emotions the artist is trying to convey that well; with berserk, you can feel the pain, hate, and rage seeping off the page, making it so much more real, its amazing.

Yeah, when I first read it my experience was very much like Guardian's; its almost like thats the original reaction. Then again, I had been 12 at the time. I tried it again more recently (14), and thats when I fell in love with it. I've been reading it for over a year now, and loving it, no matter how many times I re-read it.

I think Berserk struggled a bit during the beginning, but Miura's gotten a whole lot better, that's for sure. However, the pace is really killing me. I love all the attention to detail he has given to his artwork, but it's a dreadful long wait for not much to happen....... I want to see more Gatts.

Still I wouldn't compare it to Claymore. Claymore's all right, but I still prefer Berserk. Just my two cents.

love them both, but claymore is better, and 100% of the reason is that it has no rape sceen in it (there is like one in berserk but its still to much for me) 😃

One of the problems in trying to compare Berserk and Claymore is, despite a seemingly similar setting, Berserk is fantasy and Claymore is science fiction. I know it might not seem like it at first but, in Berserk all the monsters got that way through magic. The Claymores were created through bio-grafting and genetic engineering. Berserk is an epic fantasy with a massive world with many different settings and characters. [spoiler]Claymore takes place on what is learned to be a large isolated island being used as a proving ground. Both characters were betrayed, but Berserk was a personal one and Claymore was done as organizational policy. Claymore the end result is to become Awakened beings but without the urge to feed on humans in order to create the ultimate soldier. Guts became the ultimate warrior through training, natural strength and talent, and specialized and enchanted weapons. The similarities between the two is why people try to compare them even though you really can't.

I think berserk is much, much better.

The art, storyline, detail, whatever. Claymore's girls look all the same and the head's shape is sooooo weird. duh.

Another "fun to read comment" XD.

lol, although my whole point of making this thread was asking people what they thought about those 2 manga being compared.
😳

As a Seinen fan, I am biased, but I've read both of them, and Berserk is 5 times better... SADLY it is also slow paced 🙁

Berserk is just a WAY more complex history, WAY more complex characters ( As if claymore's characters were to have any complexity at all.... ) and already got WAY more chapters.

All series I've seen so far, with few exceptions, got better with time, and I really hope that claymore will get better.

It's difficult to foresee what claymore will bring to us, but we must think that berserk already got 4 times more chapters than claymore.

Sorry bout the bad english 😉

Claymore is like a female version of Berserk. I mean the story isn't similar per say, but the characters seem similar (the whole big sword, both badass fighters, etc.). They're similar, but at the the same time they're different is how I can describe it best.

Whatever, both are awesome and should be respected for its own right. Berserk has been around for a much longer time, so there's more fan and history, but Claymore is just as good for the short period its been around. The only problem is Berserk is going downhill these days and the extremely slow chapters don't really help either.

I really liked reading both of them for a while. But, I have kind of lost interest in both the past few chapters. It seems like the last few chapters of Berserk were all just pictures, so I stopped reading. After a while, I will come back, maybe the summer. Also, I do still keep up with Claymore, but it seems like they have been in the same battle for a year...not very interesting. I might just give it some time to develop as well.

Swannie, the poll options a bit...xD

I haven't even read Berserk so I can't say that I hate it when I haven't read it. lol
So I didn't vote.

But Claymore is. ♥.

Berserk has been around for years so it has already set its greatness in stone but Claymore has only been around for sometime so it has a bit to go but overall both series are great and they will both classics
