I wanted to see how people feel about that, because Berserk and Claymore get compared a lot..
Please do NOT mistake this thread to be a comparison thread...
It's only about weather you think it's just to compare those two manga...
( feel free to say whatever you like )
Edit:
After reading my own answers to the poll (again), I see why this thread went the way it has...
Damn... That was pretty stupid of me>.<
Well... Whatever.. I'm a fan of Berserk till the end XD.

1st post here so hello everybody
answered love them both, but I think the comparison is nonsense. they're different genres, Claymore is "serious" but it's still "just" a fighting manga, characters' analysis and development is pretty bland compared to Berserk's. I mean, there must be a reason for Berserk being listed as seinen while Claymore is shounen.
of course this doesn't mean you can't enjoy Claymore for what it is, I'm actually a big fan of it too so no offense to Claymore's fans

Love both but Berserk is just way better
They are two separate different mangas, each with their own story, characters, style and plot. The only thing in common is blood splatter. (Berserk has more though.)
I like both.

Shounen and seinen are demographics not genres. Also note that just because something is a seinen does not make it any more or less mature then something that is a shounen.
As for why they are listed as they are, it is because Berserk is published in a seinen magazine while Claymore is published in a shounen magazine.
Personally I find Berserk to be decent but highly overrated. It has a number of flaws which result in it losing points with me.
In the end, I find Claymore to be a much more enjoyable story when comparing it to Berserk.

I'm actually tempted to abuse of my powers and lock this thread just because I find the comparison pointless.
Berserk is a great manga, claymore is too. There is no reason to compare them. if someone doesn't like any of the two or both... well it's his problem, it won't affect any of those who does.
And I'm not sure this should be in the claymore section... I think I'm moving it to the shounen/seinen one...
P.S. of course I didn't lock this thread... if I'd lock something for pointlessness, I'd lock the one comparing the akatsuki and the gotei 13 first... it's like betting on who will win in a fight between a tomato and a banana... no one, because they can't fight ever...

true that, everybody's gonna have a different opinion on it, some people will love what you hate and vice versa.
this was pretty much already done with the naruto/bleach/one piece thread....

It is not as pointless as it is ridiculous. NightSwan, how can you compare two series aimed at totally different audiences equally? It's like comparing Stephen King's books with R. L. Stine's novels.
And Stealth, in my opinion, if you lock and erase this topic you'd be doing a great favor to the thread opener and anyone else who feels that comparing series aimed at different demographics is perfectly permissible (If you could, of course). Because that way, when they realize what they had done they wouldn't had to bear with the embarrassment of having a permanent reminder of one of the most "disconcerting" statements they ever made. But sadly, by the looks of it, it doesn't seem that such thing is going to happen in a near future.

well, If you find this thread pointless, close it. I don't compare manga.
I came across many who do compare, especialy Berserk and Claymore, so I wanted to see how people would react.
If I have offended anyone by this thread i'm deeply sorry.

First of all, I am new here. First time post.
For me Claymore is better than Berserk. berserk is good but ever since the flashback end, Berserk has become lame. They got so many side kick plot .Instead of focusing in the main plot, we keep getting new enemy. First we got the th Elf(if I am not mistaken her name is Rosine), then we got a priest and now we got Ganishka. It seems to me the author got no idea at all how to develop the plot so he just keep creating new character to drag the storyline.
[/spoiler]
By the way, I am the only one who felt that Berserk has become repetitive? I always got bad impression on manga that repetitive because it remind me of Inuyasha. When Griffith is reborn again, I was so excited. I keep telling myself finally Berserk is back on the main plot and it will become great again. However i was dissapointed. Griffith with the new Band of Hawk once keep winning battle and got support and popularity among humans. Duh. This is obviously a copypaste of the Golden Age arc Nothing new at all from Berserk. And now we even got magic with fire, water and wind element? Berserk doesnt look like a dark fantasy gor anymore but it look like a rpg manga for me. Sorry, but i need something more impressive, not something you can find in any typical rpg game.Anyway for me claymore is still much more better. I have give up on Berserk although i stll read the manga. I hope i dont offended anyone because this is just my opinion.
