How old were you when you got your first cell phone?
Err not sure what else to say. Title pretty much sums it all ... Umm how was it when you got your first cell phone? ( How you felt, was it a present, did you get it yourself, etc.)

Oh I know what to say - How was your first cell phone experience when you received your first phone.

I was ... 19 when I got my first cell phone, but I was sharing the one phone with my husband. Although it was mostly mine. Due to the fact that I customized it to my liking.
It wasn't until I was ... 21 that I finally got my own cell phone. I was so happy that I finally got my own phone. My husband was so nice when he choose it for me. He knew I mainly wanted to use it as an MP3 player so he got me one with a larger internal storage. Needless to say I was really happy to when I got my own phone. I loved that phone until it got water damaged. Sad panda.

Sidenote- hopefully the search I did was to see if there was a topic like this was enough. If not ... that thread must have had a bad title.

I was 18 going on 19. I had wanted a camera phone so badly, but my parents have never been the kind of parents that really bought us things we wanted just because, they've always been mindful of their money.
I remember that when Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire the movie premiered I was there and my phone was brand spankin' new and I was freaking out because I didn't know how to put it on vibrate.

hmm... around 12 maybe. I used it half of the day and my sister had it the other half. After two years my dad bought a new cellphone for himself and I was given his previous one. Two years later it stoped working so they bought another one just for me and I lost it so I recieved again an old one from a relative hehe Now I really want a new one for myself but I still don't want to work so..

At the age of 14 I got a Nokia shaped like a candy bar (2001). That phone could take a real beating one time it fell out of a moving car didn't even lose the call in the end it took about 40 drops over the course of 3 years to kill it.

Using a Moto G with a Otter box (case) now.

Ehh... how old was I? 10 or 11? I know I was still in grade school, and it was probably grade 4 or 5. Maybe 6? Was a Nokia, dunno model. It was an old one though, pass me down from a friend to my parents to me. Plastic, nothing like the iPhone 5s I use now. I pestered my parents until they gave me one, for sole use of calling home. That, got terminated after I ACCIDENTALLY spend a little too much... $600 on their so called "free" services. I got switched to prepaid plans when I got a new LG KF-350 a two or three years after that, for school purposes. Fieldtrip, teach wanted us to all have a phone. Not that any of us ended up using it at all... no one heard it ringing lol.

Hmmm, I think I was 11~12, someone older introduced texting to me,
so at that age, I already had many textmates that I don‘t even know, haha... But we met once in a while,
And I was the youngest and always came with the person that introduced me to it...

I think I was 12, got one on my birthday. Right now I don't have to spend money on it because my parents pay for the bills (it's like one bill for two cell phones... I don't understand it), so I don't mind having one.

Anyway, but I only use it to listen to music and text. Mine is almost dying right now (half of the functions don't work anymore), I have it for 4~5 years... and I'll only change it if the music function stops working. laugh

Uh... 10 I think, if you count one of those AT&T Firefly things as a phone. It had 3 buttons, one for parent 1, one for parent 2, and one for emergency services.

At 13 (I think) I got an actual cellphone, a Motorola Razer, I loved it lol, I still like the design, can't use it anymore though laugh

28! laugh

I got a Nokia flip phone for my 21st birthday, but it was locked on to a crappy network and no matter how many times I asked, they wouldn't unlock it, so I never ended up using it.

I'm not a very social person anyway, so I don't have a big need for cellphones.

Around 13 or 14... which was more than a decade ago >__>

Kids these days are so lucky to have smartphones. I remember when it was super cool to have a crappy camera phone... you can barely recognize your own selfie laugh

Around 14-15. I know I was still in middle school when I got mine. Can't believe it was at least 10 years ago since I got my first cell phone.

#1 I don't need one, and #2 they cost WAY too much.
