But for some reason I can not connect to Mangaupdates at all, at first it could refresh and it work then suddenly can't visit at all no matter the device.My housemate who has an account here can't access either (share the internet)
Wondering if we have been IP banned or something and if there is a way to solve this?

You guys got IP banned. Please ensure that you aren't running a bot that's scrapping the site. And hopefully you don't have malware or viruses on your computer. Also make sure you have cache enabled, otherwise you'll be making a lot more connections to the server, which could get you banned again (if you go to a bunch of pages in a short period of time)
