How do you know your reality is real? You can be in some virtual dream-coma because you were deemed unfit for true reality. And everything you know is just made up to came you preoccupied and away from actual people.

-insert similar "How do you know" theories here-

Though I know a person who only sees in all gray scale besides the color yellow, therefore making it his favorite color.

I believe I've heard this question asked someone else before. The answer goes as something like this:

Everyone sees more or less the same colours (unless the person is colour blind). The shade of the colour seen by two different individuals may be a tad different however. For example, there are times when one could argue whether a colour is red, or deep orange. Some people may see colours in a slightly different shade, but the colours seen by them wouldn't be seen as an entirely different colour.

You've got some crazy ideas...

But then, when for example you see um... Santa (yes, santa) everybody agrees that he is red (and white but we don't care). If everybody's colours are different for example person one (let's say p1) sees him purple and p2 sees him green while p3 sees him yellow, that would mean p1 is calling purple red, p2 calls green red and p3 calls yellow red. That would makes our colours AND the way we name them messed up!
And I still can't see your point. But now I can't even see mine. I don't even remember what I wanted to say... 1:21AM I should be sleeping instead of saying nonsense..

Are you saying something like..

If I point to a red rose, and say "this is the color red"
to me it is the color red and to another person, they learn that it is the color red, BUT WHAT IF their color red is actually my color blue?
So for that person, everything "red" would be my "blue".

Tbh, I thought about this topic before 🤣

I have no freakin` idea what you're talking about/asking.

The closest thing I'm getting is color blindess, but not everyone is colorblind. 😐

Or... synesthesia? o_____o... But that's probably way off...

yeah, I wondered about that too for a while.
i really wonder if that could be true..I mean to someone the color blue could be yellow or red
but we can define it be saying that the color blue is the color of the sky or what people taught us the 'color' names so red could be blue to you but to me red could be the color orange.. (sorry I'm not making sense)..I really wonder about this too..crap- I'm going to think about this for hours now =_=

I hear you say "Why?" Always "Why?" You see things; and you say "Why?" But I dream things that never were; and I say "Why not?"

If people were allocating meanings to words so randomly they wouldn't be able to converse in the first place and thus couldn't argue about it.

The way I see it, color is agreed upon.

It's a weird question, but not really stupid, I often think about things like this too 🙂
If people saw colours in different ways, scientists would have discovered it. I heard that cats can't see the colour red - how do we know that? You can't ask a cat what colour it sees. So, if scientists can find out what the world seen by a cat looks like just by examining its eyes, they would notice if human eyes were built in different ways 🙂

How is that deep?
It's just a poorly constructed question.

You can play what ifs as long as you like.
Won't do you any good, believe me.

First of all, I don't think it's a real possibility for us all to see in completely different ways.
Nature isn't stupid.
Secondly, if we couldn't rely on colors, we'd rely on symbols.
Like when we cross the road, for example - we see a walking green man or a halting red man.
We don't have to see the colors to understand it.
Or the three colors when driving. There's a set progression.
And if we had perceived colors in such a drastically different way,
we would have adjusted long ago, and relied on symbols (for example) even more.

But like I said, it's a very unlikely scenario.

It won't be messed up cause the color's name is still same and people still identify them as the same thing even they see it differently.
If A see blue as red and B see yellow as red, But both of them identify the color as red.Which means red is still red.

Anyway, you must have read some book about this.My brother asked me this question after he read a book( I don't remember the title).
