Congrats on the 20 years! The site hasn't changed any visually since I've started using it, which is very unique among a lot of websites, but you know, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Here's to the next 20!

I had to check my userpage to see how long I've actually been on here (16 years). I love that the site survived this long and kept it's style. Hopefully there will be a 40th anniversary and beyond.

I discovered baka-updates in 2003 (1 year after its founding) and I remember the announcement of the creation of mangaupdates a year later. Back then I still liked anime more than manga but I read manga to stay further ahead of anime so I couldn't be spoiled.

By 2006 I was fully sick of every variety of filler and almost exclusively reading manga and spent almost no time on baka-updates anymore.

But I didn't make an account here for years because I was only following a few series at the time, and I would literally just scan the entire Releases page daily with my raw eyes to see if there was a release I cared about. Once I finally made an account... yeah. I realized it was a mistake to have not made one sooner lmao.

Happy birthday to mangaupdates, I still remember lambchopsil's translations from way back in the day 🙂 I didn't really know Manick for anything besides mangaupdates though (sorry)!

A better functioning search function would be a blessing.

I agree, the site needs to modernize a bit. I would like an option to sort out the search from the year 2018 to 2024, but this is currently not possible.
But I still love this site, and I will love it for an eternity.

Congratulations! I've been visiting this website myself every single day since 2010 so that's 14 years. Looking for English scanlations from this website has become a daily thing for me ever since I found out about this website.
