In contrary to what Dr. Love said, I find Naruto and Bleach not that *ehem* great. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, so I think it's about time for the spotlight to shine on mine.
Yes, I read Naruto and Bleach earlier than One Piece. I liked both. In fact, at first, I didn't like One Piece. The art totally ruined me off, and I kept saying that it's only for babies. But when I read the first chapter, gahd! I was crying my hearts out, and I wanted more, something that Naruto and Bleach never made me feel.
The character development is just awesome, and the friendship between the crewmembers is just amazing. How they're willing to sacrifice for each other, and how they're willing to overstep their boundaries just to help one in need (Like burning the WG flag), ignoring the consequences of their actions. And it's real funny, too! I'd be laughing in this page, and then crying the next. It's like that.
Naruto and Bleach is good, in my opinion, but One Piece is definitely superior (at least in my case, it is.). If not, why would it be the most popular among the three in Japan?! The OP Universe is so big, like one said, anything can happen, and can be unpredictable, unlike other mangas which can be focused in only one type of fighting style.

Since when did I say that Naruto and Bleach were great? I just said they were good, and better than One Piece.
You make it sound like I was bashing One piece. I don't want to see when Ama reads it then. She'll throw a fit.
P.S.: Japan is only a fragment of the world. There's also America, and Europe.
Though no one even knows manga in my country. -___-

perhaps in matter of fun its better than naruto and bleach, but it has definitely inferior artwork compared to naruto and bleach.

One Piece fanatics reunite! Where's Ama?
Why do you always have to make fun of me (target Tsuto next time!) for liking One Piece?
Well anyways, I do enjoy reading One Piece more than Bleach and Naruto. Buuuut, I hate manga debates concerning which ones better than the other >_> To each his or her own.

I just hated the fact that One Piece was compared to the two others as i believe that they are on completely different levels.

Don't group Naruto together with Bleach. They are on different levels.

I think he means in terms of overall quality, not popularity.

I absolutely LOVE One Piece. It may not be as popular but its an amazing series and I can barely wait each week for a new chapter. Naruto... well lets just say its just popular... I don't like naruto characters much. With bleach being my first anime to watch and get caught up in i originally thought it was amazing until i watched other series and saw its flaws. But yeah One Piece > Naruto and Bleach =P

Well, this is one of the mature forums around.
Let us discuss intellectually.

It's OK for Strawhats to be alive even after hardest battles, but WHY their opponents don't die either? Their life is irrevalant to the future plot. And yeah Luffy's the kind one, but for example Zoro? He'd kill for sure, but no such thing ever happens.
Important characters only die in the flashbacks. Oda uses their death to build up main heroes's stories and stuff. Like Nami or Robin.
Oh, and Sasuke's my favourite anime and manga hero, but I still like OP more

Damn, a lot of anime chibis around here. My thirst for manga/anime started with Captain Tsubasa, and then it translated over to Evangelion. After that, it grew over to Berserk, One Piece, Hunter X Hunter, Kenshin, etc. Although Kenshin wasn't that great.
And to answer the previous statement that OP doesn't have any deaths; I believe Usop's mother died, along with Nami's mother, Robin's island (yes, a whole civilization technically), Zoro's childhood friend and rival, and many others. Hell, Sanji's mentor lost his leg (much more viewer friendly in the anime because in the manga *SPOILER ALERT* he eats it after giving all the food to Sanji). Since when does Bleach and Naruto incorporate that sort of sacrifice? I'd also like to add that Zoro killed around 100+ members of Baroque Works before he was a pirate and after he landed in their island.
I don't know what you guys are basing your preferences on, but the manga is superior along with the anime (manga being better than anime).
The art looks like that on purpose, and I find it superb. Plus, OP doesn't stray off from the main character's story. I hate other anime/manga where they focus on useless characters. Personally, I could care less about Sasuke and other others... I just want to read about Naruto. That's the name of the manga isn't it?
