Concerning the double post rule, one that I admittedly have a tendency to accidentally break, I offer a suggestion. Without the presence of some means by which to correct our error when we make it, such as the ability to delete your own posts, it seems somewhat unfair to apply a penalty, or at least a stacking penalty, for double posting. So my suggestion is twofold. Either provide us with a way to delete our posts, or maybe be a little more lenient towards our occasional stupidity (Like us not noticing that we've clicked quote on another person's post instead of edit on our on).

Yeah, that's a good idea, sometimes it's too late to stop once you've already posted and realised you've double posted, there should be some way of deleting.

On another forum I browse, this is solved by automatically appending the last post with "Edit:" then the double post's contents.

We do not give penalty to double posts with the exact same content since we chalk it up to your connection having a problem.

When you double post and the content is different, that's when we give you a penalty. There's is also the edit button should you find yourself forgetful of being the last poster.

We also give leniency to double posts when a certain amount of time has passed since the last post mostly a week.

If you edit the 2nd post to say something along the lines of "sorry, double post" and then append all the content of the 2nd post into the 1st post, then I won't penalize you
