since it would put sasuke's whole revenge thingy
and his motivation for spending his whole life
for greater power would be meaningless

He has none. And Kakashi realized that. At first, he wanted to restart the Uchiha clan, but after seeing Itachi, he made it so that revenge was his first priority. He obviously doesn't cares about making the clan strong again anymore.

Maybe it's better that the clan die. I mean, they really are descended from demons, and then there was the fight that Uchiha Madara had with the first Hokage. But the living Uchihas (assuming that Madara is dead and before Itachi slaughtered everyone) have been very loyal to the village.

Sakura kills Sasuke. -> Itachi kills Sakura. -> Naruto kills Itachi.
Naruto and Hinata live happily forever.

A true happy end. 😀

Another option is that Sasuke gets his revenge here and now. He has met Itachi alone in the Uchiha chamber. And then he becomes an empty shell until Naruto and Sakura pull him out.

Oh! I got another good one. Itachi reveals he's not Sasuke's brother, now stay with me here, he's his sister, and he killed the rest of the Uchiha clan because they didn't approve of Itachi falling in love with Sasuke and wanting to have his babies. At this point Sasuke falls over dead from shock.
