Did anyone else back the project? It met the basic goal for funding a single episode, but they are nowhere near the $5m goal for a full feature film.
I wonder if the difficulties in Kickstarting Anime lie in the high cost of quality production or in the seemingly slow spread of information about the projects themselves. Personally I only found out about this project yesterday... so I am sure there are a lot of other fans out there who didn't know about it. Basically it is a science fiction action thriller by Kinema Citrus (ex. Production IG staff). These guys have worked on Neon Genesis Evangelion and Ghost in the Shell, among other notable projects. The director, Masahiro Ando has directed Sword of The Stranger, Blast of Tempest and Canaan (and done work on many others) while the character designer, Yusuke Kozaki was responsible for Fire Emblem: Awakening.
What do you guys think about Kickstarting anime? Personally I am not too keen on Kickstarter, but if it's a project by respectable industry veterans I kind of want them to succeed...
