This week's poll suggestion by lollylopmr is a little silly. You ever have the desire to climb a tree and decide to follow through with that thought? Maybe it's a male thing...
You can submit poll ideas here: https://www.mangaupdates.com/topic/kilkdnn/site-manga-poll-suggestions
Previous Poll Results:
Question: Have you ever read a series you would rate as a 1 (lowest score possible)?
Choices:
- I've never read anything that bad - votes: 728 (34.3%)
- Not often, but it happens - votes: 1221 (57.5%)
- I often go out of my way to torture myself - votes: 176 (8.3%)
There were 2125 total votes. The poll ended: February 22, 2025
Those 176 of you are masochists

There was a fantastically big tree at my school growing up, where me & my bff would always secretly hang out, we would climb any tree we could though! I should reach out and climb more trees again... lol

Definitely not just a male thing.
Where I grew up there weren't a lot of very climbable trees, when I was little I lived in a place that was mostly redwoods with very few low branches that could support any weight, and after moving out here all the trees in the forest near my home were relatively young and not suitable for climbing.
Pair that with my honestly pretty subpar climbing abilities (I've always had terrible arm strength and could never even swing on the monkey bars), and I didn't do much tree climbing, but the few times I got the chance to climb a tree that felt actually doable for me I was more than happy to do so.

Where's "No but I want to" because I would love to try to climb a tree if I weren't at the age where falling will absolutely put me out of commission for three months

I first learnt to climb trees by our then-neighbour's kids (the eldest sister was the best at teaching it, but her brothers were better climbers). They had quite a few trees on their lawn which were decent for climbing. But the family moved.
Since all the trees on our own lot were either too thin or too tall (with no lower branches), I used to climb these tall-ish (7ft or so) bushes that grew by my house with my brothers… Then my twin stirred an unknown hornets' nest. That was the end of that.

This is not a male thing :<
I've climbed trees, mostly when I was younger and sneaking away from school sports day because it was so boring and we had to wait around for ages before anything would happen, so I'd climb the trees in the park with my friends. They weren't very tall, alas - taller trees are very tempting but there aren't so many footholds. I do seem to remember climbing a few tall trees in bigger and older parks though, such places always have better trees.

did a lot of climbing before the growth spurt it was some disappointment to not be able to cross the monkey bars(anymore) when my kids were small and doing it with ease I never had big(ger) arms until recently; I still don't think it's enough to do the work of weighing 4x times what I weighed when I was 7

Best I can do is climb a tree stump.

I've climbed like.. short trees. Never higher than 3 feet xD short and stocky trees.
This question kinda leads into another question. Who has ever had a tree house lol cause then climbing to the tree house would be climbing the tree too right?

I guess it depends on the kind of tree house and how nice it is. I feel like if it has any kind of ladder or steps to get into it, it doesn't count as climbing the tree itself.
Even rungs nailed onto the tree itself feel a bit like you're not climbing the tree anymore to me, rather you're climbing the wooden blocks attached to the tree. I've never had a treehouse myself, but I recall climbing into them a couple of times as a kid on wooden rungs nailed to the tree, and I wouldn't describe that experience as "climbing a tree".

When I see the percentage next to the third answer, I'm shocked that so many people have never climbed a tree as a kid and weren't even interested! What kind of child isn't interested in climbing a tree?? Kids climbing trees has been a totally normal thing through the ages, but in our so-called "modern times" it seems that kids just sit in front of their screens...?? Sad, very sad, and kinda terrifying to see what's becoming of our children today! Times are definitely not changing for the better.
