Meh, Asuka was boring, their whole relationship was boring. It was all just filler . If Seo really wanted drama than he would've had Haruto hookup w/ Nanami or Akari (2 girls that actually stand a fighting chance). If Seo wanted something light-hearted and thoughtful he would've had Haruto be alone, but instead he asspulls Asuka b/c fans like her and starts this whole mess.

I'm just glad that part of the manga is finally over.

Asuka's "arc" was only "boring" because she got shoved into a dark corner before she could even shine.
They had just only started going out and Seo started throwing all these other bitches in (seriously, wtf was the point of that classmate?), and finally throws in Little Miss BitchSlut again.

Exactly, it was destined for failure. She was never a very strong character anyways. She was a side character, the only difference between her and Nagoshi is that she had more speaking parts.

Her relationship w/ Haruto was also out of the blue. A character who has never showed any romantic interest in Haruto outside of some friendly banter, suddenly wants to spend the rest of her life w/ him? Also,the time skip to me was just writing on the wall.When Yuzuki reappeared that was it for their relationship.

i dont know why but i get the feeling that we will see a very big twist at this manga...

It's a must to keep the story going. Unless Seo Kouji decides to end it soon. And honestly, I hope it ends soon. Dragging it for so long is just gonna strain the manga even more. Maybe a few chapters dedicated to developing the other characters' relationships could help prolonging the manga longer, but I can see nothing more for Haruto and Eba.

And just saying, Haruto and Eba in chapter 142 reminded me of that guy from Suzuka and his first girlfriend. The art is so identical.

But what could the twist be?
Eba could have an incureable disease? No, we already had one of those.
Eba could get pregnant? No, too much like Suzuka.
How about, the yuzuki he met when he was a kid is not the same Yuzuki as he is dating now. The real Yuzuki actually died two years before the series' start and the Yuzuki no is actually.... a CLONE! dun dun duuuuhhn. Her father is actually a brilliant geneticist, he used Rin' eggcells and her brother's sperm to grow an embryo, which explains the animosity between Yuzuki and Rin. Then inserted Eba's DNA and let his new wife carry the embryo to term. Then he fed her rapid growth hormones to get her to the appropriate age. She had difficulty coping with her existence and decided to move to Hiroshima.
There she fell in love with Haruto. But because she could never tell him the truth that she wasn't a real person, so she decided she had to move back home. There she met what's-his-face (Hazama?) and decided she could at least be real for him (or something). Then Haruto shows up and messes with her head again. After the dude dies, she decides it is best if he never saw her again. Two years later, she meets him again and realises she only ever felt accepted by him, and decides she want's to get back together.
How's that for a twist? IT EXPLAINS EVERYTHING! (I'm bored)

These last few chapters feel like oneshots. There is no hint for the next chapter and doesnt draw me in at all. Is it because he is doing 2 other works that he is running out of ideas and is taking it slow. The manga feels empty right now, he needs to fill it up with something interesting already.

The series should just end with this latest chapter.

Compared to Suzuka where we have the sports aspect as a subplot, here in Kim Machi we have nothing, that's why the story's sort of dead and hallow. I want to see more of Haruto's dream to become the best chef there is.

You mean that dream that he hasn't really worked on for the majority of the series? Yeah.

Seo Kouji, please kill Eba so that Haruto and Asuka can be together again. Just make it so that Haruto gets into a huge accident and let Asuka nurse him back to health or something. That way everyone is happy (or dead ).

I had to laugh at the last page of chapter 142. What was the mangaka thinking here?...."yeah, everyone is going to love how strong their relationship is now." Ok, so we've all known from the beginning, that Eba and Haruto would end up together, but no one is happy right now. He crushed Asuka and has lost all of his friends for the time being.

The last couple of pages make me think that there will be another time skip coming up. And, that now Haruto is living in this new area looking for a cooking job. Cue Shiho (this better happen...the only female character that I like in the entire story and she's only been in three chapters).
