I've been inactive in the manga community for couple of years now hehe
Sorry if this is in the wrong thread.

Anyhow, I would like to work on a project as Japanese -> English translator to train my Japanese reading.
Something I can work slowly on. I'm a bit short of time, unfortunately.
Preferences are shoujo, josei, yaoi and shounen ai, and the focus should be on romance. I'm very picky about the art 🤢 My pet peeve is the wet hole which shouldn't be wet (you get my drift 😀 ) and sex from page one to the last, but other than that, the type of sex and how much it is doesn't bother me.

Furigana isn't needed, but speeds up the work. I live in Japan, so I can purchase the manga if needed.

Not to keen on starting a group, but I'd be happy to join one.

I'm paopufruit9 from a new yaoi scanlation group, Sweet Temptation. Our main Jap-Eng translator has gone MIA, so we're in desperate need of a good translator ^^; We don't have a set release schedule yet, so translation deadlines are very flexible atm. If interested, you can check out our projects at [url]http://community.livejournal.com/stscanlations/[/url] -- we've only had 1 release so far and no set translator for any of our projects except one, so you can pick whatever project you'd like to work on (though I think the Dr. Ten and Kaen projects might violate your pet peeve ^^; ) . I can also send you samples from each so you can look over the artwork--we do have scans for most of the projects, though we're still waiting on more HQ ones (we also lack a fulltime scanner ^^ 😉

I checked through those manga titles, and unfortunately they are a bit too doe eyed for me. I would like something more mature. I'm familiar with some of the titles since before, but haven't been to interested in them too keep on reading.

I checked out the projects you are working on. You're right, Dr.Ten is too much for me with the shouta and all. I have read some of Kaen before, and it's quite alright. It become humorous since it's so much 😀 Minami Haruka is also okay. It lacks plot, but her drawings are so nice! Setsuka by Anan Yukako seems to be quite good (sucker for tragedies hahaha). I don't know about the others. Not too keen on doujins though. Do send some samples! If you want, I can try translating too, since I don't have much experience in translating for scanlation groups.
