Many fans may know about TAKASHIMA Kazusa, she lost a plagiarism lawsuit against Kayono. Kazusa accused Kayono of stealing her work, Kayono's mother is IDE Chikae a real famous mangaka, so when Kazusa lost the lawsuit, Kayono's "connections" pretty much blacklisted Kazusa from the manga industry. I think I remember Kayono's Mother's defense being how can she steal what she never read? Since Kazusa is a BL mangaka, she was basically saying there was no way her sweet little girl would have read dirty homo porn.... At least that's the impression I got. Kind of make's me mad. Of course I don't understand Japanese so I could be grossly mistaken about this whole thing. It's hard to get any concrete news in English.

For at least the past six years all of TAKASHIMA Kazusa work has been on hiatus, I want to know if she completely retired/gone from the manga industry? Or is she planning to make a come back? Can she considering she's most likely blacklisted now? Some of her work Wild Rock and Harlem Beat wa Yoake Made are licensed (in English) is there hope she may publish outside of the Japanese market? Or maybe start over under a pen name?

Does anyone have any news, or is this talented mangaka destined to fade away into obscurity?

I only know what you know basically. But she is a REALLY GOOD mangaka, and that Kayono DID steal images in her works I've seen some comparisons. It's really a shame if she's going to be black listed as an author.

I wonder if she started under a different pen name if that would help any? I would HATE to see her just go away...cries 😢

Apparently Kayono has forced her to stop making manga... but I just looked into it and this makes me really upset because:

1. I'm a huge fan of Kazusa's work
2. It is obvious Kayono she stole her concepts (plus traced a few Calvin Klein adds as well)

I'm not interested in re-hashing a debate on Kazusa Takashima vs. Kayono lawsuit, (which is from over a year ago click here for that thread) I'm looking for updated news as to when Kazusa will begin releasing manga again. Thank you all in advance.

Edit: After much searching I have found THIS a Japanese web site dedicated to Kazusa Takashima Or is it her blog?? If anyone can read Japanese can you please skim this blog and see if it says anything about Kazusa sensei resuming her manga work? PLEASE & THANK YOU

Bleh, sorry for falling off topic. I feel like a broken record now that I realize how much information I have just repeated from the other topics. SO to answer your origonal question to my best ablility (I got all this info off of Wiki, just fyi):

Kazusa was banned for 2 years after losing the lawsuit in 2004, but afterwards went on hiatus because she felt a break was necessary. Since then, she has resumed the 4th volume of Harlem Beat wa Yoake Made in 2007. Wild Rock and Inu mo Arukeba Fallin' Love have also been reprinted. She made a pinup of a character in Last Client for a magazine.

Apparently she has been more active in her blog and stated on December 10th 2009 that she "plans to work hard" in the new year. (If anyone here knows Japanese she posted it here: [url]http://kazusa-t.cocolog-nifty.com/blog/2009/12/index.html[/url])

...I can't find any dates in paricular, but it sounds like she is making a come back and hopes to get stuff done this year (when it will be published is questionable).

Awesome, you must have been typing this just at the exact same time I was typing my edit above. The link you posted is the same Japanese blog I found. It was last updated June 7, 2010, although the date is the ONLY thing I can read on that site.

A part of me wonders if there are any updates (regarding her activity) on her blog that has not been translated to English fans yet. There must be more news since 09', surely...? We need someone who is bilingual.

But I am also content knowing that she has not giving up. i'm just curious as to what series she will continue or if she will start new ones, etc.

Reading this upset me seriously, I didn't know about Kazusa's fight with that other woman. It angered me intensely, I read through this post to see if she was even still active. It's 2011 and there hasn't be any real news, not to mention in the recent disaster it's unknown if she's still alive. Which worries me intensely, but it saddens me just as much.

Wild Rock (and Child Rock) were my first yaoi manga's, and it's a shame that Private Magician may never be finished. I wish the courts had ruled in her favor, but oh well, I hope she's safe and I hope someday she'll get back on her feet and brave the manga industry again! 😢

From the previously mentioned blog that I Google translated the Mangaka mentions a publication in B-Boy magazine October of 2010 and mentions the weather in Hokkaido, where I think Takashima sensei lives. I don't have any news on Takashima sensei as of 2011, I am concerned for her welfare as well.
