Was the ending really that bad? I stopped reading the series at Volume 13, not out of disinterest, but because DelRey decided to stop releasing volumes.

I enjoyed the romance elements mostly because they didn't involve panty-shots or trip-gropes, but this was a gag manga through and through. So I'm guessing that the ending didn't deviate from the gag-manga aspect, and everyone who was reading it for the 'romance' got pissed?

It's the other way around, it got extremely dramatic toward the ending and it didn't feel like school rumble any more. The stories completely deviated in another direction with a straight turn (it was very rushed too) and it didn't feel satisfying.

I would have prefered if things were left with no conclusion than what happens in the last volumes, it was just a mess with bad writing.
