Hello!

I was going through my queue of series I am currently reading and noticed that a very big portion of what I'm reading is coming from outside of Japan! Specifically Korea. I was quite surprised by this and then realized that almost all the series I've picked up recently - that have really gotten me excited - have been Korean. It makes me feel that Korea is starting to contest Japan's place as the undisputed champion in manga. Personally I think this is because Korea has a less rigid system than Japan when it comes to publishing and the extreme number of tropes in Japanese series.

So I was wondering what other people's opinion on this is. Am I imagining this? Am I the only one that's reading a ton of Korean manwha?

Japan was, is, and will remain the undisputed champion in manga for the simple reason that "manga" is a Japanese term. Other countries don't make manga.
