In recruitment, people often ask about sample of your work when willing to apply for translator, but what should it look like ?
a word document with the translation or a translated page.
And also, what kind of software should be needed ?
If anything, I'll be grey.

From the group that I know of that requires some form of proof, they usually give you a few pages to translate, either already in word form or in its original form(Manga/Manhwa). What you're supposed to give them back is just the translated texted. I think that if you're only helping out as a translator, you most likely will only need very basic stuff like something to open picture, word document etc(which are all there if you're using Windows).
If you're joining with a few roles, say translator + typesetter, then you'll need software such as Photoshop to type in the words into a layer of the Photoshop. Thus, I believe that if your sole role is a translator, you should have no problem with software.

A sample of your past work as a translator can usually be a link to a script translated for another team before or a link to a few of the releases with your nick under them.
Samples are usually only required of experienced applicants who'd like to skip the standard test, etc.
You can PM me if you need a temporary (freelance) cleaner/redrawer for some project. Especially if it's something with nice art.
Being the lazy person that I am, I'm not likely to accept anything long-term though.
