Hey, just finished reading IO. It was a pretty enjoyable read, but the ending left me very confused. Was hoping someone could give me a hand on clearing some of my questions. Unfortunately there is no wikipedia article for IO, so I could not find any answers there.

Anyways, thanks in advance for any help you all can throw my way.

1. How exactly are Taiyo and Mio related? In the end, the issue of them being sisters was brought up. Are they 100% blood related, or 50% blood related (basically, who are Mio's parents?)

2. How exactly did Saki (Taiyo's mother) die? At first it seemed as if she sacrificed herself to save Taiyo from the mysterious symbol. Later on it appeared she committed suicide (Why? was she upset at her husband for perhaps cheating on her?). On top of that, why was she choking Taiyo in a rowboat in the very last chapter? (flashback)

3. How did Nagisa/Shibuki's parent's die. It was mentioned they had died trying to save Taiyo, but where and how? In the ruins?

4. What became of Taiyo and Subuki? It's clear that they had a child. Were they rebuilding the inn at Okinawa? Why was there mention of Peru from Mio?
