Halo 3 will be on PC soon enough if not already, so no reason to get a 360.

Halo 3 doesn't have a PC release announced and it can stay that way. I would prefer if all of those 13 year-olds and wasted frat boys stayed off of my preferred gaming platform. There are enough horrible people here already.

They won't move to another platform just for Halo 3, if they already have a 360.

Of course, it's not a particularly interesting series, but really just the first decent implementation of a FPS on a console. PC gamers usually just think of it as a very generic and inexplicably well known space shooter.

I'm sorry but I have to defend Halo here.
I agree Halo isn't the greatest thing some people would have you believe.
What I find best is the rich background and universe that is part of the series. It's a great universe on par with stuff like Star Wars, and Star Wars too can be seen as a very generic sci fi movie if you look at the individual parts.
Though I'd gotten bored with the MP a month after I got it, I still find the SP utterly enjoyable. Occasionally I play through Halo 1 again just for the memories. Library on Legendary is still Hell.

Never said anything bad about the story. I read the first 4 books and loved all of them. It's only a shame that the main plot has to be driven by horrible gameplay. It's really hard to sell a game on story alone, and Halo fails to do so. Eric Nylund did the series more justice than any of the games did.

Yep, the books were good. In fact, I just got my hands on the 5th book. The gameplay does bother me quite a bit. Halo 3 and ODST's backgrounds were a little too vivid. Couldn't find the friggin buggers shooting at me. Halo 1 and 2 were still fine, though.

I'm seriously considering nabbing Altitude off of Steam. It just came out today, but has anybody here played it? The game reminds me of Soldat, which is a dear old friend of mine.

And I'm about 7 seconds from quitting Rogue Galaxy. The Factory item synthesis garbage is way too complex for me to feel like sinking time into, and I'm at the end of chapter 6. The horrible one-on-one boss fight with a guy that can deplete an entire health bar in less than 2 combos. Hello massive game imbalance resulting from not adjusting the fight for the lack of AI assistance.

The further into the game you get the more imbalanced it appears. It's hard to imagine that these are the same developers that made Dragon Quest VIII.

Isn't that a Half Life 1 mod? The one with the Marines and the aliens? I played that waaaaay back in the day.

Yup, that's the one. I quitted NS like 3 years ago, but now I'm playing it again. It is still fun.

Good stuff, but it always sucked when there was that one player that stayed as the little head crab and poured all of his points into speed and stealth. Damn near impossible to kill.
