It would make the forums more meaningful and easier to use if you could reply to posts and the person you replied to was notified of it. I don't know what your code is like, but just adding mentions would do a lot and those should be easy to add.

Of course, it would be awesome if you had a forum with a fully threaded format. They make it, so users can really have discussions. Not unconnected replies to the topic basically no one reads on threads that aren't super short. Which stops most people from participating. Writing that could take way more work. But if you don't mind replacing the current forums there are a ton of tools that do it for you.

Unless you actually DO have a way to reply, and I'm just dumb. In that case, I'm very sorry. But since I've never seen anyone reply and looked for a way pretty hard, maybe it could be more prominent?
