Hahahaha, indeed, why not other fruits? In Japan, they don't even really know what lemon means, at least most of them (I've asked my Autie, who lives there) and according (once again) Wikipedia, Cream Lemon ist the first most popular hentai anime in western and lemon derives from it, well maybe that's why.... 😕 ?? But, I prefer strawberry to lemon, it fits better somehow 🙄

Maybe because they both make your face into that sour(ish) face when you read a lemon or lime?
And i'm pretty sure Lemon is male and female pairing while lime is yaoi.

Or Lime is very descriptive while lemon is a bit softer.

Pomegranate, it's the other way around. Lemon is more explicit than lime, and neither term is gender specific, so it could be yaoi, yuri, or het.
